Firepod, Logic Audio Platinum, and XP

well, this is the homerecording forum. Most of us do not have the equipment or the ears to distinguish between a track at 96k and 44.1. Now don't get me wrong, I always record in 24-bit, as there are some more apparent benefits than just simply raising the sampling frequency, although at the end...

Standard CD audio is at 44.1kHz sampling rate, at 16-bit word length.

    Best firewire interface

*the* best firewire interface would be the RME fireface, if want 'the best.'

Lets not get into the whole fact that 96k is useless unless going to a high sampling-rate-compatible medium.

    AMD or Intel

BTW, Athlon 64s have both 32 and 64-bit registers, thus there is no 'loss' from using 32 bit apps.

It may sound thin b/c there is no bass guitar in there at all... I am hoping that will fill things in quite a bit (once I get my hands on a decent bass). Also, the electric guitar parts are not final, and more may be added later for effect. Thanks guys! Keep it up with the comments and...

Give a little listen here there anywhere.... BAM!

I usually mess with tunings to make stuff easier to play... no need to kill yourself for a simple melody like in this song... for example, 'Hard to Breathe' was almost like standard tuning, but with the B raised to a C. I cant imagine playing that with a capo or by fretting the whole thing...

Give a little listen here there anywhere.... BAM!

Thanks for the comments, bubba I'll think about putting some of the old voc takes in there, but to me it was a little too 'pitchy' at times. BTW, the tuning is weird so it may be a little difficult in standard tuning. The guitar (going from lows to highs) is FADECD, capo'ed on the 1st fret...

Thanks for the comments everyone. I re-did the beginning vocals, as i thought they were a little *too* warbly. The rest remained mostly the same... just some tweaks here and there... the mix needs quite a bit of work too... a lot of frequency fighting going on here... will post newer version...

I think dropping some bass guitar in there will fill it up a good bit... it was the same way with 'Hard to Breathe'

Finally! It is somewhat presentable... I present... the new (and hopefully improved) "Free" http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/file.php?fid=3278 Please let me know what you think of it so far... I know the vox are a little shakey at the beginning, but i just needed to get them recorded (so I...

    Focus on the Drums Please

No, the fireface would only affect what you hear and not what is rendered in sonar. I do not use sonar, so I cannot offer any specific advise, but I would make sure that I don't have a 'mono' option selected somewhere.

Both acoutics were playing the same thing, just panned left and right. Speaking of acoustics, if I can get a decent sound out of my setup, I may re-record them with my newly set-up guitar and fireface and new mics... i guess we'll see how that pans out this weekend...
