If your running a commercial studio Pro Tools is almost a MUST....if not...try the demos of each(in PT case the place you order the 002r make sure they have a good return policy) and see which you like better. You should be able to use the 002r with Sonar 4 as well
whens the last time your computers' tube got busted, or needed recapping or caught on fire!(yes it does happen to outboard gear and not just cheap shit either!)... ;)
You mean new? cuz doesn't it cost like 1500-1600. PLENTY of pre's in that price range. I've never used the Mindprint before, but i'm skeptical about it being the BEST

I've heard they were better then the lower end RME's...but when you record the signals hot it gets shitty fast, but this is all hearsay never heard the emu's before....I can tell you from experience you can hit the lynx2 converters as hard as you want (even clip them ever so slightly) and they...
not sure if the Lucid is a step up....but if your bored you could email fletcher and ask him...merc sells both lynx2 and lucid...and i know the MAC that he has at his shop has one of the variations of the Lynx2 in there...

lower Q number wider more frequencies being boosted/cut "analog sounding"
