    Please help FAST!

I looked into the DMA thing, and it is set at "DMA if available," and then under that it says "Ultra DMA mode 5" for my primary drive, and "Ultra DMA mode 2" for my secondary drive. I also tried setting the amount of samples per buffer in start-->programs-->MOTU-->MOTU firewire audio console...

I'm using a MOTU 828MKII. Cubase won't let me raise the disk buffer size. It wont go above 256. However, you can change the 'number of disk buffers.' It is currently set at 4. Will it help if i raise this? It goes up to twelve. Also, When i changed the buffer size from 128 to 256 it...

    Please help FAST!

I looked into changing the buffers. It was set at 128 which seems REALLY low compared to what others I have seen, so i put it as high as i could, 256. Shouldn't it be able to go much higher than 256? Is it a problem that Cubase is installed on my C drive, and it's writing and taking files from...

I have a separate hard drive that I use for recording that my operating system is not running on. There are lots of files on it, however, except none of them are being used while I'm recording. I'm not sure what IRQ is. And i have done many windows optimizations that were on that windowsmusic...

I JUST had to kick a band that I'm recording out of the studio because my computer couldn't keep up. They're paying me and this is a BIG problem. So far there's only about 14 tracks per song layed down, wiht a decent amount of fades, and four send effects being used. I'm running this all on...

A good drummer is more expensive than any drum machine

that's crazy, i think it depends on who you know. My drum teacher is also a temporary studio drummer and he's the best drummer I've ever heard. He can play any style and his playing just sounds so spectacular. He's just got that certain magnificance that you can't explain, it just sounds...

    Double Bass kit

I read a lot of reviews and decided to just do it and I ordered a Conaway kit. I like the 24 inch kicks but then it makes your toms even further away. I got 2 22x18's. It's gonna be awesome. I'll post a review when i get it. T

    Double Bass kit

Thanks for the input, Yeah there are a lot of music shops in CA but they all seem to say the same thing that it would take "3-6 months" to special order the extra kick drum. All shops I've called also seem to only have a couple stage customs which are also in crappy colors and fusion tom...

    Double Bass kit

Hey guys, I was hoping you all could help me find a place to get a double bass drum kit. I want something that will sound good but be under 1k. (not mahogony or basswood) I was looking at the Yamaha stage customs, but it's hard to find it with the standard sized toms and to get a second kick...

Digidesign pro tools vs MOTU who wins out?

reading this post made me wonder. I have a MOTU 828MK2 and cubase. I should've gone with the protools... but that's not the issue here. is there any way to convert a cubase project file into pro tools and vise versa? That would be really awesome T

Mixer with direct outs around $1000?

You can make your own custom cables wired on a TRS plug where you solder the wire that would usually be connected to the tip of a TS plug to the ring instead, then use the inserts as direct outs and you can use any board you want. live or studio console. T
