new direction for me
I've been "composing" since I was knee high to a grasshopper....for the past 2 yrs or so, I've been in a creative depression....then on Christmas Eve I sat down and this came out....I spent weeks manipulating MIDI files and even tried my hand with some sound processing...
Many thanks......I nevwe considered new drivers and it.looks as though Steinberg has new drivers for the UR44 so I'll DL them and then upgrade....i feel as though I've just been saved from a huge headache!!!!
I'm picking up some vibes that there are some issues with upgrading from WIN7 to WIN10 and Cubase compatibility. Has anyone experienced issues and would you please elaborate on what the problem was and what work-around fixed it/them.
Thanks
Mark
Rob.....you're getting warm!!!! It's all about THE SOUND...NOT the subtleties in technique..... let me see if I can be more specific...1) I am NOT playing ANYTHING on the piano except for the Piano. 2) The piano creates a MIDI file of what I play and that MIDI file ONLY plays (or sounds like)...
WHEW!!!....thanks to all for your input and opinions....it seems like a couple of you guys understand what I'm trying to achieve here....THE SOUND ...JUST THE SOUND....how does first position E Maj sound when played by various guitarists...that's it....I am the man behind the music and I happen...
I'm using Halion Sonic SE
Why on earth do you want to use Cubase for something it clearly isn't designed for?
I must be really confused (actually that's how I know that I'm awake.....dazed and confused!!)....I figured that with all of the amp boxes and the multiplicity of effects to work...
OK.....let's try this.....Suppose I'm working with Cubase Elements 7 only.....all other instruments are in their cases neatly tucked away......now, just for fun, let's suppose that I'm working with a MIDI file which I have made duplicate tracks of.....I'm assigning guitars to two of the tracks...
thanks...I've got a Strat which plas through a Digitech sound processor that has pretty good presets for ZZ Top, Knoefler and the like...I'm trying to find presets for the guitars on Cubase which, in spite of their different names, all sound alike....also how can I bend the strings on Cubase?
Has anyone taken the time to develop different presets for guitar so that they can replicate the sounds made by Stevie Ray, Gary M, Mark K and others. If so, would you be willing to share them? If not, do you know of anything that's "out there" that I can use?
ALSO,,,,how does one go about...
Gecko, have your daughter contact me!!!!....whymark@aol.com......I tried to score with Cubase and ran into several problems and somebody on this forum suggested Sibelius so I went that way. Again, the files lifted from the net score beautifully even with numerous ensemble parts but, the...
Hi all, I'm not sure exactly where to post this but, am trying here first ....I'm using Sibelius First 7 to score some of my solo piano projects. The SMFs were created on my Disklavier. When I open them in Sibelius, everything is notated on the treble clef even though I have set it up to...
OK, I just DL the TT DP meter...now to learn how it works....I'm too new at this game to work with anything but 44.1/16 so the Sony is unnecessary....thanks for the tip on the limiter at the end of the chain...I've been led to believe that EQ was always last....paradigms come and go
I'm...
Hi,I'm trying to get a better grip on volume management. I'm working with Cubase Elements 7 on a highly charged laptop running Win7 64 bit. I've been trying to keep the ST OUT peak as close to 0 as possible and usually hit -1 dB. In my readings on the subject I've learned that a peak of -3...
Ok, got it!
the piano has a DRM (Data Record Mode) function which allows it to record MIDI data from an external source....way cool now that I know where it is......I imported the MIDI file into Cubase and added two audio files. I enabled recording on the two audio files...... The piano was...
not quite there....yet
I thought I had replied yesterday but, don't see it posted....will try again....I tried the EZ way out first...piano MIDI OUT to UR44 MIDI IN...opened Cubase and record enabled two audio tracks and one MIDI track....started recording and got signals on both audio tracks...
Hi I'm Mark and I'm addicted to music and home recording!.., I play a Yamaha Disklavier which allows me to create/record real-time MIDI files while I play. I can also lift MIDI files from the internet and have the Disklavier play them back. OK, so I'm working on a project and want to combine...
<trying to clear things up>...two separate files and two separate speaker systems.....1st file is Cubase *cpr playing from Cubase through studio monitors.....2nd file is exported *wav file playing through a nice set of Bose speakers.....same notes.....very different sounds....I've toned down the...
you're correct Jimmy, both mixdowns sound exactly the same....muffled and muddy....I guess I just wanted to hear something different yesterday but, that was hopelessly hoping (apologies to CSN)....I'm using Yamaha HS50M monitors....small but, more than adequate...however they do playback with...
OK, I imported the questionable audio file and it sounded great through the monitors. Of course I now have only 1 track. When I exported it again it sounded much better....more clarity and brightness. I'll have to investigate more on the "bounce to track" solution provided by mixsit as I'm not...
