    Pro Results- nuendo, DP3

I am wanting to put together a Professional sounding rig and can't afford a Protools TDM system yet. I have been given a couple of options: Nuendo with a Motu 1296 on PC and DP3 with a Motu 1296. Any word on these as a solid pro combination?

    I need professional help...seriously.

I read some of the old posts on this and saw some talk about the types of reverb used. I had been trying to use a long hall and switched to a medium room, kinda like a Creed sound. This seemed to clear up the mix a lot, even with dverb. I also saw a post about layering different types of reverb...

    I need professional help...seriously.

I am recording in Protools LE. I have a song completed and am trying to mix. I have captured great sounds and by themselves, they are wonderful. My mix seems to be good in respect to left to right and from top to bottom. I am having some trouble getting the depth I want in the mix. I am...

    Question For The Pros II

I have done it on DA-88's and we popped in a hair of a second before a kick and it was seamless. I have punched and cut and pasted drums tons of times in protools and it is much easier because of crossfades.

    Does anyone write songs...?

I do most of my writing in the car. I always carry with me a pocket sized digital recorder. I store ideas for months and play them back when I have time to think. I then play it back and write it down for the band, once I have something finished.;)

Does anyone write christian based songs?

Hi guys, George, I just found this thread and wanted to be a part. I am a Worship Leader in Houston, Texas. I have been writing since 85 or so, christian music specifically since 88 and songs for praise and worship exclusively since 1990. I have written many styles and types of songs but feel...

Only bummer is that 12 channels would limit you in recording live.

    PA Speakers for gigs

DON'T GET MAD... I used to be a JBL nut. I plurged and bought EAW speakers for our house system. They are great speakers but cost about 2000 per cab. I was forced to cheap out on the monitors and bought the Yamaha SM-15V's and 12's Club Series. OMG They don't have the harsh nasal sound of...

How about this set up??? This is what I am getting this week

Sorry, it is sliders. However, you do get numeric values to help. The plugs do not use vst. Motu and Protools both use proprietary plug ins, if I am not mistaken. The quality of the DIGI plugins are much higher than the VST and equal or better, according to Sweetwater.

How about this set up??? This is what I am getting this week

I know a producer that uses motu. He says that in recording analog audio, he gets lots of artifacts. Motu is best for MIDI and Protools LE is better with analog sound and editing. You can go up to 18 inputs... 8 with given DIGI box, 8 with addon, and 2 more via second add on with optical outs...

    Pro Tools Yeah OR Nay

I have heard several complaints about the sonic quality of Pro-Tools but the truth remains...there are many high quality projects on the Radio and in the Stores right now that are made on Pro-Tools. ie... Filter, Ricky Martin (I hate even mentioning his name) and others. In a home or project...

A Poll: How many users of Pro Tools are there in Home Rec's member group?

Protools LE offers the highest quality, most inputs, and greatest flexibility. I know someone (Professional Producer) who uses MOTU and he keeps getting digital artifacts. Most all in one recorders are permanently limited to 8 inputs and most at 16bit! Granted that with Protools LE, you have to...

Recording an amp far away from console.

I would put him in the distant room with the amp and cabinet, mic it, run it through a snake to the control room. A guitar and cabinet speak to each other and interact. Take advantage of it...great overtones and harmonics...crank it!!
