    Secret track

Hi guys. I'm currently in the process of finalising my debut album. 13 tracks leaving me with around 50mb of disk space(CD) to which I was thinking of sloting in a 14th, and secret track. Well the space isn't really the only reason, I also have a personal reason for including this secret track...

REAPER v3.1 - Better, Stronger, Faster

I use Reason for actual composition making but I needed something else(plugin compatible) for actual mixing/final production. I was using Sonar 7 when I decided to try Reaper...now Sonar is just gathering dust on my desktop and I'd never go back. Reaper just does everything I want it to and...

    reaper latency problem

You'd given up before even recieving a reply dude and seemed to make your mind up that Reaper is worthless...then to add...you have latency problems with Reaper and despite others saying they don't...you do so it must be Reapers fault...and then once again you go on to slag the program because...

    reaper latency problem

Your problem Gordy me old mucker is system related, not software related and with your one dimensional way of thinking...it's no wonder. ps...version 3.05 update is now available which concentrates on processing issues.

    dancehall/hip hop song(I'll return feedback)

It sounds good to me dude. It's a little bit cilppy, distorted...Ableton live ? The bass levels are managed well though considering this and that panning you're talking about, sounds fine to me mate. I like the melody too...I would just turn your faders down abit...get everything below 0.02...

divorce blues - with some new gear/mic placements

Yep....sounds great Walter. You mention new mic placement but does that include your vocal mic? cause your vocals definately sound fuller to me or are you just positioned better? Your production sounded great before but it definately sounds improved mate so well done. Love the song too. Mart.

    Say my name

I love strings with a dance tempo. That was the idea behind this tune. Not sure what else I can say about this track really, but would love some feedback on the mix though guys. As my tunes tend to be a bit long(especially my intro's), I decided to post a shortened version...but those of you...

That is an excellent mix mate. I love what you've done with the vocals...the way you've re-pitched them in the 'downgraded, relagated' bits etc. Would love to know what you used for this ? Also, that guitar solo is brilliant. It's a shame you didn't join in with this thread when we were still...

    Help! New to mixing...!

Hi James. Looks like you're just down the road from me...small world eh? ;) Late here so I can only listen through headphones atm. You ain't got a bad sound mate(listening to the track you mentioned). It's a little bit muddy/boomy, you should try cutting some EQ at around 150 to 300hz to help...

Ah....so that's what you sing there...I thought you were singing 'I'm gonna drift out into empty space' LOL. I didn't think you were too keen on that bit as you've never commented on it before. Ok, I'll bring that back in. Mart.

    Harmonizing effects for Reaper

Yes...try 'reatune', which is a reaper plugin. It'll help you with pitch correction but for harmonizing...you'll have to replicate the vocal track and then edit it with reatune. It's a bit difficult to use though and there isn't much in the way of tutorials. There's also 'GSnap', which is a...

Ok, here's my mix. Not sure if it's final or not...I think it still needs some tweaking but, I thought I'd post it anyway and hopefully get some feedback. http://1001music.co.uk/temp/music/Never/Never%20let%20a%20good%20thing(final%20mixdown).mp3 ...and the instrumental:-...

    Compressor?

No...you use a compressor for any instrument depending on wether it needs compressing or not. You also use a compressor on the entire mix, again, depending on wether you need to or not. My advice is, forget buying a compressor until you know and understand what it is and how to use it. Only...

    Thanks to you all.

You can bet Dre never got where he is today by having the same attitude in real life that he portrays in his music. A great post dude...good on ya...Have some rep ! Mart.

From Collaboration to Mix Challenge! cybergord

Hey...thanks very much. :p Seriously though Louie, there are slight tuning problems with the guitar track that Gord supplied...you can hear it bending against the piano in your mix. To compensate, I ran the guitar track through 'Reatune' which is a Reaper plugin...maybe you might want to...
