    New Recording Monitors Needed! ASAP!

I need a decent set of computer recording monitors soon! I'm currently using Roland MA-8 Stereo Micro Monitors in black, so it won't be difficult to find something much better than these. Any ideas, within reason and price? Stupid detail, but it would really be cool if I could find something...

    Small Home Recording Monitor Options?!

I'm looking for a good upgrade to the Roland Stereo Micro Monitor MA-8's that I'm currently using. I'm not trying to spend $1,000 or anything, but I really need some decent recording monitors for a one-bedroom-type studio. What are some great options? Seems like there's several out there, but...

How to Add Effect to Just a Section, Not Entire Track?

True. So far, I don't think Cubase LE 4 is anywhere near as good as Sonar! It's not user-friendly by any means. Below are some of the things that I liked about Sonar 2.0XL, that don't seem to be easy with Cubase: * To continue a loop, all you had to do was click and drag the edge. * You...

How to Add Effect to Just a Section, Not Entire Track?

Great idea. I'm trying that. Haven't got the kind of results that I got with Sonar, but I'll keep trying. With Sonar you could just select a piece of the clip that you wanted, then process it with whatever effect you wanted. The rest of the clip would be unchanged.

How to Add Effect to Just a Section, Not Entire Track?

I'm new to Cubase LE 4. So far, I'm noticing that it's not half as user-friendly as CakeWalk Sonar! I may wind up switching back. Anyway, my current question is: How can I add a Reverb effect to just a little section of a loop? I don't want an entire track to be effected.

    Backing Up Computer?

I like the idea of one of those LaCie external desktop hard drives. Their site has a 320GB listed at $149.99, and is fully PC and Mac compatible. I forgot to mention that I have an HP Pavilion. Only wish I had a Mac Pro! Here's another question to show my rookie side: Several of those LaCie...

    Backing Up Computer?

What's the easiest and best way to back up all the important stuff on a computer? You know, in case of a crash or something. I like the idea of getting a big external hard drive and putting everything on that. Is this the way to go?

    Drum and Bass Loop CDs?

I'm looking for a collection of rock loops that contain not only drums, but bass guitar as well. I can't seem to find a loop CD that has "groove clips" of both instruments playing at the same time. Any ideas?

    Woody Ibanez RG321?

I want a Fernandes Sustainer kit so bad! My e-Bow is great, but nothing beats an on-board sustainer. Ibanez also has their SA160 that is another option that I'm interested in. http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/9/4/4/306944.jpg They offer it with the natural mahogany look...

    Woody Ibanez RG321?

Anyone have any experience with the cheap Ibanez RG321 with the mahogany oil finish? It looks great. The RG line seems to be geared towards the metal heads, but I believe any guitar can be coaxed to play any style you want. Besides, I'd be swapping the humbuckers out as soon as possible...

Why Is Quick Time Popping Up?

I've been uploading songs as .mp3s to my website (http://www.leroysmith.net/sights&sounds.html), and they would normally play under Windows Media Player. Well, as of late, the song clips have been opening under Quick Time. What the hell is going on? I haven't changed anything on my site, and...

    Calling All Audiophile 2496 Users!

This is for anyone who uses M-Audio's Audiophile 2496 soundcard, specifically with CakeWalk Sonar: I was just curious as to how you have the Patchbay Router set. I've noticed that it works with a couple of different settings, but I want to make sure that I have the most optimal and...

    Copyrighting Individual Songs?

Something like that would only need to be done if there were more than one author/co-author though, correct?

    Copyrighting Individual Songs?

Copyrighting individual songs is obviously a common misperception. I just found out that my grandad also thought the same thing. I'm sure glad I know the truth now, thanks to you guys, and the "straight from the horse's mouth" e-mail that I got from The Copyright Office. Now I want to study...

    Copyrighting Individual Songs?

Awesome. You guys helped to ease my mind. A friend of mine once told me about the individual song concept, and I thought it sounded ludicrous, but I had to find out for sure. And yes, at $30 per song it just wouldn't make sense. This is straight from The Copyright Office: If you register a...

    Copyrighting Individual Songs?

I've heard that it's better to copyright each individual song on a CD, rather than the whole CD as one. That way if one song is taken off of the CD, it's still considered copyrighted by itself. How true of a statement is that? If this is correct, how do you go about doing this? I know how to...

    What's a FireWire Port?

OK, I've seen one of those inputs on several of my grandad's computers. I'm not sure that mine has one though. I'm going to check it out...

    What's a FireWire Port?

I was reading a review of an 8-channel mic preamp, and it created a few questions. I'm still learning a lot about recording. What is a FireWire port on a computer? Do all computers have one? What exactly does "tracking" mean?

    Eventide Harmonizers

That's exactly what I was afraid of. I know what the H3000 offers, and that's what I'm measuring everything by. I'm honestly still leaning towards an H3000 or H3500 over the Eclipse. They can't be that bad to program with patience. I agree though; Eventide's website needs some help...

    Eventide Harmonizers

Nonsense. Those wacky Vocoder effects are the best. I just want to make sure the Eclipse contains the same, or similar-type algorithms. I would definitely use them, too. I have several recordings that call for those out-of-the-ordinary sounds.
