    Remix of Prior Song

Listening again now purely for entertainment purposes, but can't help adding a few more comments. :) Firstly, I think I was not as attentive to your vocals before as I was so focused on the new addition of the gf. These are better indeed. I think you struck a better balance between accuracy and...

To Ramona - live tracking of vocals and acoustic

Great performance. Love all of the little details you give each phrase that Dylan really doesn't so much. Not to say it isn't a faithful cover though. I haven't heard this tune in ages. I have a shitty sounding live bootleg of his with this on it along with a ton of other tunes in this same...

    cold, cold ground

Oh, thinking back to my comments last night it seems kind of pretentious in retrospect...like I'm all mr. integrity or something with these higher artistic principles! I didn't mean to come off that way, as I'm not necessarily averse to accessible or popular music. In all likelihood, I would...

Thanks so much for the kind words and thoughtful suggestions sir. I'll take a look at the classical guitar used for the intro. I often get feedback that it sounds weird when I use it, so I think I haven't yet figured out how best to capture it. It seems harder than recording a steel string for...

i'm so lonesome i could cry

Not sure I could withstand the brutally honest feedback? from a trained singer no less? Thanks for the offer though. Spare her. lol

i'm so lonesome i could cry

Thanks. 4 track cassette can sound awesome, but I won't hold my breath. lol I'm not sure what you're hearing, but if it comes in just as the drums do, it might be them? It's a loop with brushes and it is kind of noisy. All of the tracks that I personally recorded live were technically flawless...

i'm so lonesome i could cry

I listened to johnny cash on you tube 5-6 times before doing this, and I felt he really had a weird mix where the whole band was somewhat subdued behind him. I tried to emulate that overall feel here. Yeah, The word "cloud" in particular is a bit unfortunate, along with a few other words, but...

    No Choice

Mix two is way better. Clearly. Good job. I would personally bring the vocals up just a bit and the palm muted guitar down a tad to balance it out more, but it's in the ballpark as is.

    Could use feedback

I mean, that sounds really good, but without a bass guitar and vocals it really sounds incomplete? Like a backing track for something else. The performances are tight, but the guitar sounds too DI and the drums too roomy in relation to one another in my opinion. Go for one or the other.

LOL @ roy orbison! Shit I feel old all of the sudden. I don't even like his music, but I understand what you mean.

Come Forth - spooky ass white boy shit

Yes, I say so. Your memory is inaccurate. I don't even have wind chimes...although I do have a large bell attached to a tree out front. Never rung it, but perhaps I should?

i'm so lonesome i could cry

Sorry to post another track so soon after the last, but I'm in high output mode and would really like to get feedback on this one before moving on to whatever else is next. This track is different in many ways...content obviously...It's a Hank Williams tune done more in a johnny cash kind of...

    Remix of Prior Song

Listening as I type. The overall impression is favorable. I liked this one the first time around, but had some gripes, although I can't remember exactly what they were. lol It's sweet that the GF joined in. Was she like enthused to do it, or did you have to coerce her? I haven't had much luck...

Thank you paulman. Just the fact that you liked it is really encouraging. You never know when you come up with something that makes sense to yourself whether it will connect with anyone else on any level. Some don't care whether it does it or not, but for some reason I do. But only to a point...

    Clarify the term "Drum Overheads"

Somehow I feel like I ended up in the wrong grouping here. :( No offense to the other "helpful" folks. I was just thinking out loud, as I often do...usually not considered helpful.
