    Pro Tools Interfaces

Nope must use mbox, mbox 2, or digi002 in order to use protools. (or if you've go the cash and really want a nice studio you can go with an HD system) Sorry about that but Pro Tools is great for what it does though I know some people would argue that, but the flow in Pro Tools is something that...

    Must-own mics

I'd probably hit up: A pair of KSM 44s ($400 each used) A MD441 ($400 used) KSM 44 - vox, acoustic, piano, OH MD441- snare, Electric Guit, any other precussion, occasional vox

Pro Tools LE 7, Big change?

Nice, looks like I'll hit up the pultec bundle and the smack compressor with my plus bundle. (unless your issue gets resolved and the SRC turns out to be really nice that is) I love my protools Digi002 now and with the new optimizations and my new Dual Core PC I should be rockin' once I get V.7...

mics for guitar amps other than sm57's.

Pro Tools LE 7, Big change?

Woohoo good to hear the upgrade is worth it! (probably would have done it anyway for the plug-ins though) So any recomendations on which plug-ins to get? Also do you need to have an ilock for the plug-ins, cause I don't have one yet.

$600 to spend on drum overheads.

Allways safe to go with SM81's MC-012's (from soundroom), or the Peluso SDCs . Most people will tend to go with a pair of SDC's as aposed to LDC's on overheads. And in your range there aren't too many nice pairs of LDC's to be found anyway.

    Serious drum help needed!

Just mess around with the HP and LP filters cause the snare track is mostly for reverb and just a tiny bit extra bite to the snare, because your overheads picked up a great sound already. Personaly I really like the sound of your drums, especially for the song that they are in, they have a very...

    Serious drum help needed!

Well if you don't have aux busses you can just add two new stereo audio tracks where you paste the same audio clip into them. Then just apply the snare and kick operations and you are set. You wil have the advantage though, because you have the other tracks, so you can hear how the drums sound...

    Serious drum help needed!

To reproduce the sound that I got, simply bus out the drum track to two stero aux tracks. Then on one aply an EQ with a low pass filter that filters all but down to about 100 hz. Then I just boosted with the same EQ around 80 hz. In the next insert I used a Thump kick preset in Compresor/Limiter...

    Serious drum help needed!

I hope you don't mind, but I took a shot at your delema and if you like it I can give you a step by step of what I did if not throw it in your recycle bin and never give it a second thought. If I have offended you by using your material just say so and I will imediatly erase the message. Anyway...

    Upgrade from 002R?

Are you looking at upgrading your interface (digi002r) and pres or just pres? Cause at your budget you will have a hard time upgrading both.

Mic for sax and vocals (421, RE20, SM7)?

Add one to the RE20 it sounded just wicked on a tenor sax I recorded a while back. Great warmth and presence. Can't comment on the SM7 too much but it should be fine as well as the MD421 which I do have, but do not use too much on sax.

    "Second line" rhythym?

Second line usually refers to the festive march in New Orleans usually durring Mardi Gras, so I would guess that he was refering to a beat used commenly in that march. Thats my guess anyway.

    Football + Mic = survial?

Thanks for the Replies. The reason for the wireless mic would be to get the banter on and off of the field from key players who I will be following in the documentery. It seems like it would be way too difficult to have several shotguts following these players at all times, plus I dont know how...

Alright, heres my problem: I'm doing a documentary on A football teem and need some quality audio (I'm looking to sell this), I had the Idea of getting a relitivly cheap wireless lavalier mic system and puting it in a players helmet (with all proper permision of coaches etc of course). My...

new track recorded with digi 002

It sounds nice man, though I don't quite think the vocals sit right, and theres something wierd going on with the snare (not good or bad, just wierd :p ). Other than that it sounds fine, don't be hard on your self it was good.
