Thanks TAE. Even though the guitar performance isn't my best work...I am EXTREAMLY happy with the guitar tone. Better enjoy it because I don't think I could capture that tone again if my life depended on it Lol

Thanks Chili. It's hard to beat "old trusty"...shure sm57 right on the speaker. Best amp micing advice: Get a killer tone before micing!

    Wicked Game (cover)

Nice voice. I see that this is mastered? The mix is good but the volume level is pretty low for a mastered track when compared to other recordings. Did you master it yourself or have someone else do it?

    Is this rock mix harsh?

Great song! The mix doesn't sound overly harsh to my ears. It could be smoother but it isn't bad now. Just remember 2 things that cause harshness: Too much compression and too much 2k frequency. So, if you compress a vocal or guitar heavily you are going to probably have to cut the frequencies...

    "Warm Like A Gun" - funk/rock/synth fusion

I love the tune. The performances are great all the way around. Great use of reverb and delay. It is saturated but it works. The guitar solo sat in the mix perfectly and sounded amazing. The whole recording is killer! My only nit with this, and it is an easy fix, is the S's on the vocals need...

    How is this mix?

Yeah great vibe. I thought the mix was well balanced. I don't really have anything to suggest on improving. It sounds good to me.

Manslick : Why'd the pizza guy have to die?

I like the song. I agree that the drums sound too mechanical and don't sit right in the mix. I don't know, that may be the drum sound you were going for. Brushes on a snare would sound really good on this. I think the rest of the mix is good.

Fantastic guitar tones. I agree that the drums are s little too forward in the mix. Other than that is pretty much perfect

The new mix is in bother soundcloud links. I hope I am getting closer but, sometimes your ears can play tricks on you when you try to mix right after tracking. I haven't decided if the lead guitar is too loud or not. Any input on ths new mix is appreciated guys!

Oh OK manslick. I thought you were saying you couldn't hear the drums that well in the mix and i needed to raise the level on the drums. lol They are Mapex acoustical drums.

Thanks for checking it out Chili. I always value your input. I had a sm 57 and a condenser mic on each speaker of the fender pro reverb one panned har left and the other panned hard right. I wasn't happy with the performance, the tone, and the way the guitar sat in the mix so I just...

An old Howling Wolf song. I'm playing all instruments and singing. I'm not satisfied with my lead guitar work on this...it's good in places but I think it could be better in other places.
