Can't Get Guitar to sound right when recording

Do you really think that he's gonna listen to that? FFS, we haven't even heard him sing yet. It's the same originally recorded lithium riff repeated over and over and over again with different amp dial positioning and STOMP pedal mashing. IMO, this thread is an insult to every well intentioned...

Fret Not If Your Guitar Doesn’t Perfectly Intonate Up Down The Fretboard

Years ago, here at HR, there were a few luthiers who inhabited HR. I miss their advice and continued presence, but I understand their decisions to move on.

Fret Not If Your Guitar Doesn’t Perfectly Intonate Up Down The Fretboard

I stumbled upon a great article...I'll circle back to that later. A few days ago I reached into my closet of acoustic guitars that I hadn't touched for at least 6 years. I grabbed an Alvarez, tuned it at the nut end, worked my way up the fretboard only to discover that something was amiss. It...

Mid 90s indie guitar US trio type number: Grace

I agree with Papanate. The chimey guitars are a touch overwhelming. Rickenbackers on steroids. Good tune though!

A guitar I built in 1986 has come back to me!

My 1980 Alvaez Yairi DY55 still sounds as great as it did 45 years ago when i bought it. I don't buy into the myth that acoustic guitars sound better as they age simply because the wood has aged for decades. YMMV

Have you investigated to see if there's a mic activation issue on your laptop? Edit: Never mind. I see you've managed to record a full 13 hours length of...something... using Audacity.

ocenaudio creating a 22 min recording while im leaving it on for 2 hours...

Is it possible, now that we know that he's using the built--in mic on his laptop, that it's perhaps a "voice/noiselevel" activation situation requiring a threshold adjustment to initiate the "recording" process on his laptop? A dog not whimpering loudly enough to activate the recorder, but a...
