    FX continues ringing

Seriously is this a thing in Reaper? - I’ve used Logic for years and have not experienced this - unless you are talking about a Reverb plugin sounding after the initial hit - which called the tail - and is supposed to do this.

    Out from the Shadows mix/arrangment

The background sounds like Double Vision by Foreigner - the vocals sound like nothing .

    FX continues ringing

Homestly you should just answer the phone…..that’ll stop the ringing.

Sooner or Later - quick limiting question

I hear limiting - across the whole piece - the drums are super compressed - the bass has something going on - the keyboards are top limited - the gutiar has compression - and it almost sounds like you have a spatial plugin or something - but non of it sound wrong at all - interesting piece —...

    Out from the Shadows mix/arrangment

Well I meant that in good way - they way your playing the guitar seems reflective of how Mick Jones played guitar.

    Out from the Shadows mix/arrangment

    Sounds like a Foreigner outtake.

8 kHz static noise in my audio recordings

I’d put a couple of Ebtech’s Hum Xs on the wall - and plug all your stuff into those (with two powerstrips) - I suspect dirty power is the culprit - maybe your house is not grounded correctly - you could also look in the outlets with a Multimeter - don’t do this if you don’t understand the ins...

Compressing Acoustic Guitars, and the dichotomy between what's said and what's done

The only rule I have for Compression & EQ is whatever makes it sound best and brings out the style the artist or me is trying to achieve - sometimes that’s limiting - sometime nothing at all - its all dependent.

Cured - strange clicking when recording

It was/is a stupid idea to use cable as part of the copy protection - and it mostly hurts the users instead of protecting the copyright -

Cured - strange clicking when recording

I have no idea why directional would be copyright protected - I think they did it because they could!

Cured - strange clicking when recording

I have no idea - i just know in the early days USB was directional - I’m not saying yours was - I’m just saying that people had problems like yours. Well I know for sure the early MAudio were directional - then they wised up - and only built bi directional units - but plenty of people were...

Cured - strange clicking when recording

No it is the manufactures of USB Cables fault - no one knows why but way back in the early days all cables were not bi-directional - they would have some sort of symbol on them that would show which way it went - but no one would ever look out for them - just like with Directional HDMIs - there...

Cured - strange clicking when recording

The device is most likely a ferrite ring and is used to reduce RF interference on the USB Cable.

Cured - strange clicking when recording

I know it's odd right - but when i had problems back in the USB days 10 times out 9 it was the USB Cable - shifty ground or slight disconnect or something cablely. BTW The Square Connector is a USB B style connector.

    Boys Better

Why? if you like it it should stay in - for me the guitars and bass and vocals sound fantastic - dare I say better than Daddy Warholso_O. The voices are flowing through the parts better to my ears.

    Nothing to Say (remix)

I got to listen to it a few more times - initial thoughts are the recording is well done - interesting stereo spread on the parts - really makes everything pop - only thing I can say is the playing is a little loose - is that the style you were going for?

I see - i get the LoFi approach - but I don’t like it on most songs - I’ll listen again and see.

8 kHz static noise in my audio recordings

And on GearSpace with the same problem in January 2020 - He got similar advice - some more technical - and with the same results - he ducked out without reveling anything about his microphone or doing anything different than he mentioned here - if I was to guess he looks like a troll seeking...
