The German Martin Miller Band Videos

This was the first video I saw. The one that turned me on to the band. Most excellent!

Anybody else bought a guitar for what it looks like?

Yes all true. But the first time I saw it it shocked me. Kind of like the shock you feel when you’ve been deceived. :D Should have seen it coming though. In the 70s as a kid I had a summer construction job. It baffled me doing moldings. They used vinyl fake wood (like contact paper) over...

Anybody else bought a guitar for what it looks like?

Going back to the original topic, I’d say there’s a hell of a lot of people buying a guitar solely on looks. So many are buying from Sweetwater and other online sites. Instead of the days of going into a shop and trying out guitars, you just look at the pics, often times just on a phone. You...

With modern glues, vacuum ‘clamping’ and poly finishes that veneer ain’t going nowhere.

Anybody else bought a guitar for what it looks like?

You mean how ‘thin’ ? :D Average about 1/32 inch . Hey, at least it’s wood. I had a late 80s Japanese strat. Great guitar in every way,,,,except one. Flame maple neck but finished in poly. Yuk And the flame, although it looked nice, it didn’t dance. You know, it didn’t move and look...

Less expensive overseas models often have an actual maple cap but the top that you see is a figured maple veneer. They can pitch it a a figured maple top, because it ‘is’ a maple top, but it’s cheaper than an actual solid figured maple top that US made models have.

Does it belong here or elsewhere?

Tough call, but here’s one man’s opinion….for what it’s worth. It’s kind of analog gear so it could go here, but….. Most of your threads are DIY fix it threads that are very comprehensive and technical. You generally go into the whole of what you’re working on and fix everything you find...

Maybe, just maybe, this is the cause of the problems? The tip off for me was when he said none of his channels worked.

A question from a german songwriter

It’s fine. You have nothing to worry about. Your voice fits in quite well, especially considering the whole song has that ‘Euro vibe’.

If yours are missing, you’ll have to get some. But they’re hard to find….or get some short RCA cables, or hook the inserts up to a 20 input NORMALIZED patchbay. Maybe @sweetbeats will chime in as to where exactly in the signal chain the effects insert points are.

Here’s what they look like. There should be one for every input channel (20)

@Jimi Shelter Do you have your jumpers on the insert jacks?? (The very top set of jacks) Without those it won’t work. Unlike other mixers with a TRS insert jack, you have separate phono jacks for the in and outs of the effects lnserts. They need to be physically connected with the jumpers...

With my mixer I’m running a 16 track so I’m using direct outs and tape in on the first 16 channels. I’ll use the remaining channels for effects returns. In your case with an 8track you could use the 8 busses. Sweetbeats calls them programs. Study the 3d video I posted. It covers the back...

    Professor Wolff

Need to bring up his level a bit. He does indeed have a very rhythmic speaking voice. Ironically a lot of what he says makes sense too. But I digress. Different thread. Back on topic. It works, just need to bring him up a tiny bit.

Channels 1 and 2 have an input selector configured this way….. far left, mic. Middle, instrument. Far right, tape. You in the mic position? Below those switches you have input trim. The small one with the red cap is the mic input trim. Is that turned up or is it turned all the way down? The...
