Hey guys.
I've been running Studio Case (Cubase SE) since August with no problem. Retail version, not a crack. Recently upgraded to Win XP SP2, added an additional disk drive for more space and installed the VST components from Studio Case.
A few days after the upgrades I booted up, started up...
Playback "stutter" after some actions
Hey guys.
I'm recording vocals for a pre-recorded track.
I've been through the "PC optimization for audio" stuff. Everything works great. Load the track, record the vocals, playback. Sounds great.
But when I try to "Pitch Shift" the sound track (-4...
Hey guys.
I have a Lynx L22. Great card but only 2 analog outs (out1-L & out2-R, I believe).
Problem is I want to hook speakers AND headphones. The cheap-o way is Y-adapter. But only volumn control is in the software (no vol on speakers or headphones).
So I'm guessing I need a box that...
Hey guys.
Anyone try building there own acoustic panels with Fiberglass insulation (Pink)?
If I stuff 2 or 3 layers (trying to compress it) into a 2'x4' box I build, will that help on the bass end or is that still only getting the mids and highs?
Thanks.
Hey guys.
Is there a FAQ or something on soundproofing materials, construction ideas, gotchas, etc.
I want to build something in a rented apartment for a vocalist. We have a couple walk-in closets with no "outside" walls but I need to "acoustically treat" whatever area I use.
I've seen some...
Hey guys.
Setting up my first PC based system with little recording experience. The setup is as follows:
Shure Beta 58A > RNP8380 mic-pre > Lynx L22 audio card > Cubase SE
Right now I need to set the mic-pre Gain around 54-60 to get good levels in Cubase. This setting seems a little high to...
Hey guys.
Just installed Cubase SE. The audio card levels (in/out) are great, but the recording levels in Cubase are VERY low. I have to yell (mic) to get a small reading in the Cubase levels.
Here's the setup:
input : Mic > RNP8380 mic preamp > Lynx L22 audio card > Cubase
output: L22 >...
Hey guys.
The Situation
I have a vocalist in the family that can really wail on the blues/soul/gospel stuff. She wants to create a CD of her own songs plus a few with her vocals over some karaoke style soundtracks. Ideally we'd like to make the CD available on her web site and see what happens...
Alrighty. This is probaly the millionth time this question has come up.
It's a PC based system. I'm covered for harware (I think). Trying to decide on software to use for recording. So far I'm looking at CW Home Studio 2004 XL or Steinberg's Cubase SE Hybrid.
The price is the same ($100-$150)...
Hey guys.
I'm running a PC based unit with a 24/196 PCI card.
All I need to do is record vocals for pre-made soundtracks (for now). So I need to load in the soundtrack then record vocals while the track is playing. I want to be able to open multiple tracks in the same window and re-record...
Excluding issues of expansion, the question is difference in quality/accuracy. Is the LynxL22 much better than the LynxOne?
I assume L22 is the 2nd generation which implies all-around improvements. Is it worth the extra cost (roughly $250)?
Thanks.
Hey guys.
Recordings are for a vocalist so all I need to do is record vocals only for pre-recorded tracks. Plus some way to hook up "real" monitors/speakers for evaluating.
Budget is around $1000 (not including speakers) but I would consider up to $2000 if the quality increase is worthy.
My...
