i've got a shinybox ribbon mic (basically a nady)--i've used it very little and have always been very careful about handling it and using wind screens, etc. but i was recording a guitar cab (from about a foot away--not very loud--it couldn't have been generating much spl) and it sounds like it...

i'm in the market for my first real pair of monitor speakers. i previously was using some klipsch computer speakers (& headphones). well they're dying, so i figured i'm due.
my budget is about $500 on the top end. in that range--right now i'm leaning toward the Samson Rubicon...
entry level ribbon mic
i'm in the market for an entry level ribbon mic. right now i'm most considering the EH, however there's also the nady. what are your opinions?
or am i better off not getting one at all?

i have been using the pre's on my behringer for the last couple years, and i wanted to get a mic pre that warmed up the sound a bit, coloration would be a good thing.
so i went out and bought the brick (figuring on some tube warmth) and a Joemeek VC6Q.
