WOW!! That's cool. Maybe we could get that guy to hawk our "plektrums"!
I had another idea! We can add a "4:20" option. (It just came upon me at, well, whenever). It can add unlimited sustain. Or a "666" option, that gives that Tony Iommi "left handed" "devil sound" (I like that!) Or, of...
I've done some research. (about 30 seconds, but can write of R&D costs).
I/we (looking for partners?) can get a cheap 3D printer for about $500. (We can always upscale in the future, AND write that off as a CapEx) If we can get plektrums (sic) from every guitar superstar (Slash, Grohl...
I didn't know that. Sorry for my haughty response.
In the mid 80s I worked for a company that designed and manufactured a machine that did "touchy feely" measurements, XYZ on axis. We had a camshaft from *some* company, right off the line that we used for demonstrations.
The damn thing was so...
Having spent 10 years working with XYZ motion systems, I think I know how they work. I didn't ask for a copy and paste PowerPoint.
I was only asking if anyone had any experience with the end result.
I just purchased an Epiphone Casino Reissue, dated 2022. The description indicated that the seller had the frets 'plek'd". I know what the process is, and heard much about it, though I've never had a one.
I'm used to doing my own fret work, and have had very good success turning Chinese cheapos...
My kit is a 1999 DW Collector Series. The snare is a 10 ply/10 lug maple PDP, 5 1/2 x 14 with maple hoops top and bottom. I like my batter tight, but there's no warmth to it unlike the DW shells. I could get the warmth I want from the snare with some compression and a high end roll off (300 -...
As a drummer, I would always use two mics on a snare: one batter, one resonator. What is absolutely imperative though is to remember that the mics be 180o out of phase.
I use 57s. If you think in terms of the diaphragm, the batter head is going to receive sound as a "reflection" of a stick hit...
I'm sorry you feel that way, Rob. I believe that I, and I speak only for myself, have tried to be helpful with advice.
I think it's a little bit of a stretch with your "spectrum" remark. I'm not a medical professional, and I would never make an assumption like that anytime, anywhere, anyhow...
The first three didn't sound bad until the 0:20 mark when the "effect (???) kicked in. The guitar sounded passable. Not my taste, but it had some bottom.
Be careful what you wish for, man.
This thread should have ended forever ago. Yet, here we are. We're either suckers for a sham, really...
While I'm in the US, I have to agree with Rob. I almost lost a bass player to a "lifted ground". A better idea (which I use in the states) is to find some bare metal on your equipment, and run a ground wire from/to each piece. AND KEEP the ground. If your equipment is anodized, you will need to...
Welcome. Our backgrounds sound fairly similar.
After struggling with thousands of $$ of mixers and R2Rs to record multitrack I finally gave in and purchased a Zoom L-12. It's pricier than the R-12, But, I find it to be extremely user friendly. I was able, after 18 months! of frustration, to...
Why not start with the bass, mid and treble at 5. Add s little bit of gain and a little bit of drive.
I'm sure it's in the post somewhere, but what kind of guitar are you playing?
