We worked on both Look on Down from the Bridge and Flowers in December! We lost our violin player, so we might not do Flowers and might just stick to the Bridge. Such a great band. "Mazzy definitely did it." Interesting I'm not finding it on YouTube.

Thanks, Steen. We're huge Mazzy fans and actually working on a cover of theirs. There is a shaker in there on the same track as the finger snaps, but maybe I need to bring those up or move them to individual tracks to adjust them.

That's super cool to hear as Lou Reed and Jonathan Richman are probably my top two all time favorites. I kinda lump them in as the same really. Lol. What did you think of the song and specifically the bass line? I was trying for an old school Motown type feel there.

That seems like a benefit tbh if running a small home studio like I am. I really don't want a bunch of power supplies. Do you know if rack gear helps with/eliminates aliasing when using things like saturation? I don't like to up my project rates due to it increasing other problems and that 44/16...

I use 545s which were SM57 predecessors and they're fine with the 1st gen FR I am using. I do have to crank it to near max, but the signal to noise is pretty much fine and it sounds louder than what you're getting...I'd start to considering asking the vendor about this and maybe reporting it as...

I use a scarlette with dynamics and generally i have to crank the gain near 100%. What gen is the FR? I think the newer ones have more gain (65 where as the old ones were like 57 db). Also check your FR software to make sure the gain in there is correct. It shouldn't be as low as yours, but...

Is aliasing in saturation and similar type plugins a good reason to start using hardware? Will it make a noticeable difference?

Does anyone else have opinions on the 500 series stuff vs big transformer stuff? Is it true the 500 stuff lacks them? If not, how does one go about finding what transformer is in them, etc? Will that be listed under specs for each unit? Is there a well known list of units that use transformers...
