    EQ frequencies help

Hi Guys I have finished my "home" mix and did a Master with LANDR (online tool for mastering) I have noticed that when I listen to the track from my headphones it seems quite ok, then when I listen it from the car I can hear a bit too much High Frequencies that are somehow disturbing...

Izotope Ozone Imager Tips (Stereo Width, Phase Issues, Balance)

No indeed maybe im not getting it. Still no answer on how phase issue should be corrected. It’s not a performance issue right? If the 2 guitars are not perfectly aligned maybe the picking is slightly not on time in some parts causing some kind of delay? you are saying is an issue caused by 2...

Izotope Ozone Imager Tips (Stereo Width, Phase Issues, Balance)

Thanks a lot for making me notice the previous issue, you were completely right man. Sounds much better now, even if now I'm re-checking all mixes with the Ozone Imager for other potential phase issues and to try to balance the mix, unfortunately my ears are not trained like yours so I have to...

Izotope Ozone Imager Tips (Stereo Width, Phase Issues, Balance)

I was trying to follow the LCR panning rule (100% R/L and center), I found out the following looking at Ozone stereoscope. - I had some phase issues in the part of the song where 2 clean guitars Only, panned 100% L/R were playing - In the parts where 2 distorted guitars are 100% panned L/R...

Izotope Ozone Imager Tips (Stereo Width, Phase Issues, Balance)

Because I trust this guy, he mixed big bands: And also because my friend has a recording studio and he also recommended to pan guitars 100% L/R, at least distorted ones, if you have 2, and if you have 3, one in the center and 2 to the extreme sides. . if not 100% can be 90% or 80% but mostly...

Izotope Ozone Imager Tips (Stereo Width, Phase Issues, Balance)

I'm finding out the problem step by step and now I think I'm getting closer to the solution! Indeed the freeG Meter plugin is transforming the mono signal in stereo! The one I had on the master bus was widening all my mix. If I switch it off the signal goes back to mono. Now some tracks are also...

Izotope Ozone Imager Tips (Stereo Width, Phase Issues, Balance)

Hi guys/gals, I'm not such a pro at mixing and I'm still learning, despite this I have recorded and mixed a few songs at home which sounds pretty ok to me. I'm using Cakewalk by Bandlab, I'm now in the phase where I'm trying to understand a few things like Mix balance, stereo width and phase...

Problem with LOW frequencies too WIDE?

My problem is that the bass is mono, but at the same time is too wide, speaking only about the bass track. I compared it with a Mogwai song and in my mix I can hear the low end too wide like on the back of my ears. It is balanced left and right but too wide. I need a plugin that is opposite of a...

My new Post-Rock song Mastered, Suggestion needed!

I see I need to investigate that and see. I checked everything and there are no effects on the drums, neither on busses. You know it’s very very strange, What could be that when I mute the drum track everything is fine and when I unmute that the drums and everything else get delayed on one...

Problem with LOW frequencies too WIDE?

Thanks a lot for the advices! I will try those plugins, also mid/side processing should work. I will also check the problem at the root, as you said maybe the amp sim plugin is causing that. Need to test.

My new Post-Rock song Mastered, Suggestion needed!

Thanks for the suggestion but I don't know why some of you are insisting that the drums are delayed on the left side, they are not delayed! they are wide ok, but not delayed, and this is the proof, they are perfectly aligned left and right

Problem with LOW frequencies too WIDE?

So the drums are in stereo cause it's a midi programmed drums and works that way. The bass though is mono, I just used some amp simulator plugin (Th-U). There are no stereo widening plugins at all. I don't think is about cutting the low frequencies, it will cut the sides and the mid as well.

Problem with LOW frequencies too WIDE?

Hi there, I'm having an issue, so basically I'm using these SPAN plugin which allows you to see if your mix is balanced, it seems that my mix is building too much low ends on the sides (Left,Right) and not in the center, even if equally balanced L/R, meaning the low ends are too wide. In the...
