I have the whole back wall full of bookshelves and books, they act as great diffusers. Plus a pretty high ceiling that slants down.

I have behringer b1 ldc about 8 years old and works perfectly fine. I wanna trade it for a sm57 if someone has an old used one they dont need. Or wants a cheap ldc. I need more 57s. I doubt anyone will be interested but its worth a shot.

I use the h4n in 4 channel mode using the mics as overheads, and I plug in a 57 for the snare and any lcd for the kick. Ive experimented using ext mic plug in the back, so I can use other mics. I just plug 2 mic into a mixer pan them hard left and right and line it into the mic ext. cool stuff...

great buy they have a short break in period. The bass response is great and so tight. And they are a huge upgrade from the scl2 that i have . these are amazing when recording loud instruments like drums. Better then using my sennhieser hd 240s. buy them or die.

Check out the guts of a 57. This is the reason your mic isnt working if its not the soldering points. Notice the broken wire, its tiny tiny tiny.:D

The headphones jack on my h4n is messed up. I suspect the soldering points where messed up. My only problem is i'm not sure how to open the thing up to get to them so i could fix it. (besides for removing the screws in the back. Help would be nice. Thanks
