I had an idea the other day. Wondered if anyone else has tried this.
Put in a CD and export the wav to cubase. cut it down to the instrumental sections and play along with it to improve your chops.
Works better for jazz practicing....put in an r/b or smooth jazz song and play a lead over the...
Hey guys, I have an old Marshall amp that still sounds great (speaker and such ar ein good condition)....the only problem is that its been sitting around for so long that the pots and such are pretty scratchy.
Anyone have any ways to clean these out to eliminate that noise or is it hopefless now?
Hey guys, one of my former bandmates is moving and has a TON of stuff to sell.....so I will post some of it here if anyone ends up being interested.
I don't have a full list, but we'll be selling a bunch of guitar, and really nice ones at that....his prize guitar is a PRS Dragon.
Also some...
Hey guys, I finally got my firepod and cubase SX3 set up. I'm brand new to the computer recording thing, but have some general recording experience. I can generally figure stuff out by messing with it. However when I set up the device as the presonus ASIO driver I didn't know what to do with...
Hey guys I bought a patchbay and I am new to them I decided to test out the routing on it.
It put it in the "open" configuration and hooked up a guitar to it (inserted into top A -rear) and then lined the patchbay out to a crappy combo amp (top A-front). The patched signal had tons of noise...
I tried to install the drivers for my firepod this afternoon and it said that it was missing the windows logo testing. Said if I installed it anyways I might incur problems later.
I've never encountered this with any software in my life. Should I be concerned and not install it and call...
Anybody here used one?
I'm totally intrigued by having 8 channels in one rack.
Thinking about buying a used one because its a good price and would eliminate me having to buy 4 different rack units to get the same amount of compression.
any thoughts on these units?
Thanks.
Matt
Hey folks, I have GOT to sell this stuff. It's taking up all my space.
For live audio purposes I have available:
Two beautiful Peavey SP5G speakers. Great handling, wonderful sound. If I was running sound still then I'd keep em. But the cash has a better use for my studio. So for $500...
I've only messed around with the demo but I don't see a way to insert a tempo change.
Someone suggested PC drummer and I have tried the demo. I like the drum tracking better than fruity loops. The sounds are pretty solid too, but PC drumemr doesn't have a way to insert effects, etc like fruity...
Hey, I've got a laptop to use for a mobile recording rig.
Gator cases makes those rack cases that have 2 or 4 U slots and then a top panel that hold syour laptop. I was wondering if anyone here had another suggestions for what to use.
Or maybe someone has one of those gator cases they wanna...
So I'm starting my mobile unit. I'm gonna rackmount my firepod (and rackmount my second one when I get it). But in visualizing how to set everything up for doing live recordings I had a question.
Since a live recording in which I use line outs from each board channel will probably not require...
So I imported a song into cubase....it was a recording from a live show my band did....and I wanted to mess with it, see if I could spice it up, etc.
I worked with it and it was sounding pretty good in cubase....
then I exported....as a wav...and opened it in windows media and it didn't work...
Will I eventuall yneed software other than cubase or whatever recording software I use in order to do mastering? IE do I need to buy Steinberg wavelab?
