The guitar doesnt sound as muddy to me. I think it sounds cool. It actually sounds like an amp compression, IMO. The drums to mee sound a little bit too loud. Too upfront I would say. But it doesnt sound bad, its just my taste.

Hey, guys. I did this little comparison between the Behringer XM8500 vs the Shure SM57. I pointed both mics to the 14th fret of the guitar and no EQ or compression was added, just a limiter to make the sound louder. The gain was basically the same in my Bheringer UMC204HD interface. Dont know...

I dont like the style, but this definately sounds good, man! It felt like I was teleported to the 80's or to GTA Vice city's universe.

I think the song has a 70's vibe to it. I liked particularly because it doesnt sound overproduced. Nice job!

The vocal harmonies are spot on, I liked it. Even the falsettos, they sound a little bit shakey here and there, but it didnt sound so bad. This song is particularly hard to sing. Macca is a tenor and from what I could notice, you sound like a baritone. So its a really risky game to try to sing...

Yep, I should have tried a little bit more, I guess. As you said, I was satisfied with the take, but its funny how recording with a single mic makes us kind of aware that we need to "mix" ourselves in the performance too.

I could do it separately, yes. But I was aiming for a single mic thing. But tes...maybe I will consider doing it with two mics next time.

Nice to hear that you used some outboard gear. You used it nicely because I guess I could hear some compression, but not like, too much, so its subtle. I dont think the bass sounds as bad as you said! To me its fine!

Sounds really sweet, this one. I agree that it has some resembling Mccartney, also some Sufjan Stevens, IMO. And dont use EZ Drummer and EZ Bass, unless you want to ruin whats real in your music. If you cant find a drummer, try it yourself or, IDK, try something, but experiment, record drums...

Really good sounding mix and great song. Its sounds really balanced to me. I can hear that the bass is not "perfectly" defined, but to me its sounds suits the mix. The mix has a classc vibe to it. I wonder what gear you used to record it and if there was a lot of processing during the mix phase...

The guitar tone in the beggining is really cool, so is the riff. I actually like the vocals, IMO the weakness is the drums. The snare has no top end. It sounds really buried in the mix. Next time you could mic the bottom of the snare drum. Or try to point the top mic differently. But cool...

To me, its really hard to top the 57. I've never had a really expensive mic, only cheap ones like these. If I had to pick one mic for the rest of my life, maybe it would be a 57, lol.
