Hello everyone, I have a question that may go in the recording techniques forum, but because its analog, I'm posting it here.
I currently am using a Studiomaster(don't laugh, its all I have and have to use it for now) 20x8x2 mixer, with NO direct outs but it does have channel inserts.
In...
Howdy everyone, well I finally took some time and fixed my trusty ole Tascam 122.
Bought it on ebay for a measly $45. Was in half way good shape and ran for 6 months. And then it did what all cassettes do after a while. The good ole come to a halt routine. No Play, FF or RW.
Well if it...
Hello, I'm posting this for anyone who is interested. I did a search first to see if it was here already and didn't see it.

Hello everyone. Ok, heres a DIY random ART diffuser design. The picture shows one made of Maple, but you could use Fir 2x2 which actually is the nominal dimension. It's really 1 1/2" x 1 1/2". But there is a trick to this one which is pretty cool, and makes cutting and assembly easier.
Look...

Hello everybody, well I am convinced that the guy who said "homerecording is the damnest avocation ever invented by man"(or something to that effect) was understating it by a magnitude of 1k.
Ok knightfly no questions here, yet., no visit either. Went to the links. Read everything. Opened...

Howdy everyone, well it seems I have the smallest bedroom "studio" I have seen here, so I have to use every available square inch and surface. Including using a metal truss over my console for mic booms! Thought I would share this for those of you who think yours is small. Bask in your ocean of...
Hello, I bought a box of stuff at an auction for a dollar, that contained a Shure 578 "Omnidyne" mic. I'm sure it's not very good, but would like to know what type of mic this is regardless.(dynamic, condenser?) Looks like an a Shure 81 condenser, but smaller. The cord is integral and lo-z with...
moronic question #39,387
Hello everyone, say, anyone know if nearfield magnets fields induce any type of interference with mic or -10 lines? As usual, my monitors sit on my console, so the magnets are within 8-10" from any lines. Just curious so I can fix it if there is. Thanks

First off, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Second, YEAAAAAAAAAA! Dragon is upgrading the speed!!! Cool. Thanks Dragon.
Howdy all, well I'm posting this for whoever is interested. This is just a test for scale. It is a detail of a vertical section detail, at the engineer side of my console...
Hello everyone. God do I love analog. You HAVE to if you use it. Tonight my best friend came over for our weekly traditional laugh, listen, practice, and fool around with analog sessions. We had a ball. Since he had brought a new 1/2" 456, after our practice(I say that loosly), we decided that...
Hello, This is real amatuer stuff so don't laugh too loud. I use Band in a Box r11 for quick layouts, finished basic song midi tracks and improv accompliment. My real purpose is to use it as a click track(midi timing?) and rough midi tracks via audio to 1/2" MSR-16 trks with pre striped timecode...
Hello, I'm a newbe to this forum. I have a couple of questions regarding Cakewalk and Soundblaster Live. I don't understand sound fonts at all. The soundfont configuation thing is a total mind boggle to me. When I open a Twiddlybits drum sample in cakewalk, they sound fantastic. When I open...
