Hey all,
So I moved into a new apartment not long ago, which is a basement apartment. I have a bunch of music electronics, and I have some questions about where and how is safe to store them. First off, I have a multi-shelf rack on which I’ve been keeping my guitar effects pedals. The shelves...
Thanks for your reply. Makes sense. I'll give it a test.
When I'm comparing strength of the mixer via the specs, I'm looking at the output power of the amplifiers in the mixers right? In which case the StagePas mixer has 680 watts and the Samson has 300 Watts... So I'd need to turn the volume on...
Thanks. Makes sense.
Reason I asked is because I've owned a StagePas for years which I was gifted as my first mixer, and the first three inputs broke over the years (they give an awful hum/distortion sound when I turn the volume up even in the slightest on any of these channels)... though the...
Let's take 2 PA systems:
First let's take this Yamaha StagePas 600i here, which I own:

Then let's take this Samson Expedition XP300:

The reason to use 2 instead of one in rehearsal would be two-fold: firstly, I have a PA system I love and am used to using for vocals, but it doesn't have enough wattage to plug in an entire band... and so let's say there's already a PA system that the other band members have and it has enough...
Many thanks.
My question was more about just rehearsing with the band, and not so much about actual performance at venues in front of an audience. I've edited the question to make this more clear. I didn't ask the same question about performance at venues because I know most venues just provide...
Please note: this question is about live performance when rehearsing with a band; not recording.
So let's say I have a PA system I've gotten used to and the I like that I use to practice singing. Let's say in the not so distant future I start rehearsing with a band, and let's say that my PA...
I will ever so seldomly get some of the pop, but definitely have worried about the spitting factor before... So the gags sound like a good idea.
Not sure if this answers your question, but for practicing singing (which is what the question was asking about) I plug the mic into a Yamaha Stagepas...
Thanks. Makes perfect sense.
I didn't mean to say I'm eating the mic 100% of the time; just the vast majority of the time. I naturally back off a little for the 2% of a song that has to be belted (I'm not doing any metal, but I do a fair amount of rock and also Thom Yorke-esque songs that have...
Thanks!
That makes sense. I'm singing in a totally untreated room.
I should note that my question was specifically about just practicing singing in my apartment when not recording (I edited the question to make that more clear).
When I'm practicing singing in my apartment (not for recording, just for practicing) I've realized that my mouth is always very close to the microphone - like basically as close as my mouth can be to the microphone without touching it (so close that my facial hair will sometimes touch the...
