Which is better for acoustic recording : KMS27 or SM81

I went to guitar center yesterday, prepared to buy the SM81 ($60 more than the KMS27)... but the dude there highly recommended the KMS27 for acoustic recording as he had experience with it. So I went with the KMS27, but I figure I SHOULD get other opinions with experience, because I don't want...

I bought a KSM27 for recording an acoustic guitar (Disappointed so far)

I can't get a loud of enough recording level without hearing a shitload of "air" in the background. I'm basically recording in an open environment in my bedroom next to my computer, perhaps this is the issue?

Which is best for Recording: Mic'ing an Acoustic OR Direct Acoustic-Electric

I'd be recording Directly through a Line6 TonePort UX2 if I went the Acoustic-Electric route... But someone mentioned it sounds 20x better if you buy a good mic instead and record that way. If mic'ing is the better route, can anyone recommend a good mic for around $250 - $300 for acoustic...

Unfinished Song (Intro) I'm a complete newbie to the whole world of recording/mixing so I'm just wanting to get opinions on this initial stuff. I'm thinking about cutting that intro in half and leading it into a rock/distortion part. Guitar/bass recorded through a toneport ux2 -> Sonar 5...

What is the best method to map out midi's for creating realistic drums...?

Is it manually plotting the notes with a midi editor? Is it by using a music keyboard? Are there other BETTER avenues? I'm interested in the best method. Thanks.

A really big NEWB Question about drum samples / midi

I know you can either choose to map out a midi either through a music keyboard, or manually insert the notes with an editor... which method do most people use, when say for example you're making drums with DKFH / Battery for a song? Thanks.

Software to record effects on the fly?

I've looked through a lot of threads and I couldn't find an answer to my question. I want a piece of software that will both apply a specified effect while playing (so I can actually hear how it'll sound) - AND record it. I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card, and I'm hooking the guitar up...
