Im going to purchase the RMGI SM911 10.5 metal 1/4 tape reel from u.s recording. I have an empty 1/4 ampex 409 take up reel. Will they both work together? Or is it better to buy the RMGI 10.5 empty 1/4 take up reel?

Is this compatible? I would like to record on all 8 tracks. Mix em on the Tascam M208b. Then do a stereo bounce to track 3-4 on the Teac 3340s. Then record on the remaining tracks on the Teac 3340s. Is this any good?
