    New geetar

Been enjoying the hell out of playing with my new guitar, getting to know it. This one turned out kind of melancholy for some reason. I tried to use two different drum grooves, some of the transitions are a little rough, or maybe you don't notice...

    Opinions please.

My first impression of the guitars was they have that kind of raspy/gaspy DI sort of sound. I listened again on headphones and they sounded a lot better. Back on speakers the gaspiness returns. It's a great track. Vocals are spot on. I hear the Joe Walsh reference, and maybe some Sammy Hagar as...

    Not much room

Yeah you're right. It is kind of aimless. A vocal would help give it some direction. Without vocals a lot of my jams end up like that

    Not much room

Yes that fill, thought I might get away it :D Funny, it sounds 'normal' to me now. Cheers dobro

    Adaline

Nice track. Ebbs and flows really well, almost Beatlesque in the way it builds. Good job

    Not much room

Yep it's based on a firebird without the central slab. It sounds great in the room. Now I just need to learn how to play it! No slide on this one, that's the Harmonizer pedal doing the hard work

    Looking Back (Gary Moore)

Yeah the rhythm tones are zz top and the lead is Billy gibbons all over. Bass is popping a bit in spots. Dusty would have that right back in the pocket :D

Something For Me - modern blues rock

Works for me. Mind you I'm a sucker for seedy bars. Like that addition of that guitar around 1.40. Nice lead break. Vocals are very good. The acoustic guitar might be a little strident. I like how you ditched it completely in the 2nd half of the song. Cool jam

    Mix in progress...

Not sure I'm hearing the same mix as everyone else but it sounds pretty damn good in this house. Definitely got that Jessie's Girl thing going on. Vocals & BVs are great. No issues here

    Wheels

Good uptempo tune. Mix is quite loud but if that's what you're after go for it

    Star (Colab II)

Very smooth & professional as usual. BVs remind me of Gotye/Kimbra for some reason

"Repeat As Needed" - Psychedelic thing

The drums seem to be dragging at the start, could they be nudged forward a bit? Love that fat warm tone of whatever that is. Wow crazy good guitar lead at 1.10 & again 5.15, fab tone. Second listen the drums come right after about 30 seconds. Then they seem to back off again around 2.15 for a...

    Taco Night

Hey Trip haven't heard your stuff in a while. Good to see you still grooving the power pop. My only nit is the snare could use a little more snap, It's cutting through fine but could be brightened up a tad. Great lyrics :D

    Not much room

A good friend of mine is a luthier and he built me a guitar, very stripped down minimilast design. It's very responsive, a lot of fun to play. This is the first jam with it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wzxGsX6rfqsnzeKLBzI3vdj_ziP7_rg1/view?usp=sharing Unlike my last post, I didn't go...

this is supposed to be a rock thing....?

My wife says the same thing except she doesn't give me as long

    Room mic

I grew up in the 70's and albums like Bowie's Low or Foreigner's Head Games always stood out for me because of the filthy distortion on the snare. I just loved that explosive snare, each hit sounded like it was tearing the speakers apart. When I acquired some '1176 style' compressors I...

    Room mic

Would you like to purchase a copy? I could do you a club mix with even more room mic :D

this is supposed to be a rock thing....?

The track is a little loose but pretty good. If you put a basic drum loop behind it and added a bass track & vocal I think you'd be surprised how much it would lift it

I'm Gonna Love You (Anyway) - Original by Jeff Rowlette

Using canned drums I would be tempted to bring in that tom fill just occasionally instead of all the way through. Otherwise nice job. Vocals, guitar chops, got it all
