    Studio floor

All up and running now, it's quite cosy and needed lots of treatment, I made the RW3 floor to ceiling panels and I already had a few pre made standard size ones. On the ceiling above the listening spot is Iso bond which work very well. I took some REW measurements if anyone can help interpret...

I half agree with you Papanate but I need to soundproof a bit with the neighbours quite close and me chick in her home office about 15 feet away hence the insulation in the walls.

Yeah, the plasterer is in at the moment (nice lad but he doesnt half drink tea...) it was like a big drum in there yesterday, reflections all over the place. I'm gonna bung up some cloud panels for the ceiling as well as the wall treatments. Can I get away with carpet direct onto the concrete Rob?

    Studio floor

Hi I'm in the process of turning a brick built outbuilding (17'3 x 8.1) into a studio. A new cement floor is down, a stud wall filled with rockwool and plasterboard finished on ceiling and walls. I was automatically going to put carpet down but after looking around there seems to be a couple of...

Which of the guitars below do you mean? Re the drums I'm not a great lover of reverb, any other way to give space in this instance? Thanks Papanate

No mastering on it Mark, a very light 1db compression on the master bus is all. I can't hear a vocal at 1.06, there is a guitar line just before 1.06? Thanks

Hi Rob, the piano was intentional to be a bit wacky, but I don't like it either, the sustain gets in the way of other things but if I take it out the track appears empty. I've tried different keyboards, Rhodes, Wurlitzers, but I cant seem to find the right sound texture, any ideas? I'll have a...

The song is Turn Your Key, the file is called mix 1 but's actually mix 5 or 6 - I've lost count. It's flat, harsh and muddy but beside that it's great :) Any words of wisdom to improve it? Thanks

    Mixing within Superior Drummer 3

Thanks for the reply Papanate. I'm not quite getting it though could you explain in a bit more detail? I get that I can send different routings out to my DAW but it can be done all within SD3? Appreciate the help.

    Mixing within Superior Drummer 3

I'm talking about mixing within SD3 not routing them out to the daw for subsequent processing.

    Mixing within Superior Drummer 3

Let's say I've routed kick and snare to their own busses within SD3. It only appears to route the mics and not the OH or room (unlike when you click on a kit piece in the opening window, where all aspects of the piece play) Is it possible to route all the items of say, the snare including room...

Some help on this one please

I need a bit more space and less clonkiness. I'm not great at reverb so there isn't much on it. Any advice?

    This snare sound

I ended up using a Lignum Custom stave, compressed quite hard and with reverb, did the trick Jay, Thanks.
