Maxell UD 35 coercivity? Beck ??

To Tim (Beck) or anyone who perhaps knows the answer. What is the coercivity of Maxell UD 35 tape? What would be even better is a source, such as a scanned spec sheet or similar. Thanks! :) ~Daniel

    TASCAM 34 vs 34B

Other than the difference in dates made, the CUE section and the 1/4" jacks with preamps, are there any other differences between the 34 and 34B, like perhaps different heads, electronics, motors etc ..... ? As an aside question, are all 3 motors in the 34 / 34B the SEALED type ? Thanks to...

    Experience with TASCAM @ Montebello

Has anyone here actually ordered a mechanical, heavier part from TASCAM (Montebello, CA) parts, something other than the typical belts etc ... ? I ask 'cause I wish to enquire as to their protective packaging for the more fragile items. How was it ? Thanks! :)

Oh man, do I hate sellers who do this!

    TASCAM 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 series catalogue scans

I thought I'd repost this here, in a new thread, so that it doesn't get lost in a currently "closed thread" and benefits those who particularly care to know more about the series. Enjoy! http://members.shaw.ca/ftp_pro/01.jpg http://members.shaw.ca/ftp_pro/02.jpg...

Quantegy are a bunch of opportunist thieves!

Tim (Beck) mentioned this previously, 'bout Quantegy raising prices on tape, especially their 456 but it bears repeating here. For a company which is going down the toilet, they sure want to make a killing on their last batches of tape. First they have a fire sale, trying to create panic in...

Packing 101 (read this if you want your recorder / mixer to arrive in one piece)

This really should be a "sticky" on every forum like this but here goes ... THE FOLLOWING IS A MUST READ: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/packandship/ http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=21161 This is the way I'd like people selling on eBay to pack, to follow the above...

Here's a nice bias chart for RMGI EMTEC tapes

I like that it's all laid out for you, based on the type of recorder, its record gap and bias recommendations for several popular RMGI tapes / speeds. (Yes, our beloved TASCAM is also mentioned! :D ) I guess you can use those for Quantegy equivalents as well. The SM911 = Q 456 and SM900 = Q...

Solution to tape path wear ?

Let me bounce an idea off of you .... I've been thinking of using some type of material, mounting it onto the tape lifters and all stationary tape guides, perhaps a type of tubing or wrap made of teflon or something equally slippery, something which would save these parts from totally...
