Non-permanent sound treatment suggestions for concrete basement

What does non permanent mean? Something you can move around or take down and re-erect each time or?

    Unusual Bass Technique

Have you ever seen the Uilleann pipes Beaky? They can sound exceptional with some songs. Also very haunting sometimes. Great when not played fast. A lot of Irish music is always played as fast as possible. 'Diddly doo' music we call it.

    DIY Acoustic Panels

It is cheaper if you are capable and able to do this.............then also have a saw and battery screwdriver............and the area to do such work. Some people do not have these facilities or the skills and to even just buying the tools can make it work out more expensive than purchasing...

    Nature recording system setup.

For recording outside nature sounds you will need portable recorders. These vary greatly from something like a Zoom H1 for $100 up to thousands. A Zoom F6 is one of the latest quality field recorders at approx $600 and you can record with stereo mics with this recorder. Microphones again...

    Nature recording system setup.

Firstly you never told us you were trying to record nature in your previous post. That type of recording is a totally different kettle of fish to what you led us to believe by saying that you wanted similar microphones to the Rode mic you mentioned. Because of that you got mostly the wrong...

Rode NT-1 or something more sensitive?

A lot of people listen with headsets today via their phone. On music it may hide any 'his'' but with anything else you would hear it clear.

Rode NT-1 or something more sensitive?

Maybe best if we knew what he/she was hoping to record. In a studio it is a studio and fairly quiet and stable. Outside brings 'other' problems which can mean even more kit and money as Dave has explained. I have a Rode NGT2 shotgun mic which is the cheaper end of half decent shotgun mics...

Rode NT-1 or something more sensitive?

Picking something up from distance would be a directional microphone like a 'shotgun' microphone which would be for mobile and studio. Yes you can pick whispers up from a distance by just racking the gain up full on your recorder. When you do that you introduce noise and how much depends on...

Acoustic Treatment with windows on 2 walls

An easy and cheap way is to buy those I think they are shower curtain rings with big strong crocodile clips on them. Then get a thick heavy duvet and hang it over the window with those crocodile clips. Cheap and effective and easily removeable when not wanted.

First major step in new music room/studio project

It may work in your favour to delay the work a little regards materials. The huge price rises are down to shutdowns which have affected the supply process in manufacturing. Eventually this will unravel and stabilise. If it were me I would get the electrics and plumbing and extraction etc all...

a website vs a YouTube channel

Because if you wanted a shop where would you want it? Nice street or outside the tube/train station where the millions pass by?

a website vs a YouTube channel

I have disagree with you there Mike. YouTube is the best 'free' platform/billboard/shop window you will ever get.

a website vs a YouTube channel

Your website is the equivalent of a piece of rock floating about in the entire universe. It's there. We may know that. But does anybody care or have any interest? And then how the hell can we find it? YouTube is similar except YouTube is the shop window crammed with millions of all sorts on...

    Off grid studio

Before you buy land you need a 24/7 365 fast running plentiful stream water supply. This will provide power and water for crops/livestock. Wind is expensive and patchy. You need good land that has good drainage. You need good neighbours. You need a population hub to sell produce. You need...

    Off grid studio

Do it. You can provide lots for yourself while others are glued to the tele. As long as one of you still works you will still have cash. But trying to make a living from small acreage is very hard work. If you dont you will always wonder. Off grid with power generation is even more work...
