what are your suggestions for mixers with direct outs. i need aabout 16-24 channles, somewhere in there. I am really just interested in prices and models here, so i can start looking. I have a 24 ch. hard disk recorder.

I am looking to move up from a 16 bit setup to 24 bits. I have a fostex mr-8, which is 16 bit, but i like it because i can use a usb port to transfer files to my comp. is there anything else with a usb port at 24 bit, or do i have to build a brand new comp?

can i get neoprene at a local home improvement store, (lowes, home depot, etc) or do i have to get it online? 60 durometer right?

I just picked up a kingston 512 flash card for my MR-8. Now, is there anything i need to do before i put it into the MR-8? Formatting, software updates?

in pro studios, i see them with the mixin board in front of them, and then are monitoring the person and other pre-recorded instrumernts. Are these simply huge hard disc recorders, or are they going into the comp.?

I use a fostex mr-8 standalone recorder, but then i dump those tracks onto my computer to mix/master in cubase. My question is, can i buy a tascam 424, basically a usb interface/control surface, and contol the slider on the screen. Is this like a vst controller that will sync with my computer...

sorry about all the questions, but this is my last one (ok, i have a problem!) on the yamaha MG16/4, can i switch phantom power on single channels, or do i have to do it for all the mic channels? i looked and contacted yamaha and all the dealers with no response!

if i buy a small behringer mixer, like http://www.zzounds.com/a--2676837/item--BEHUB1002 and run everything into that as a stere channel. (computer, main mixer, mr-8, cd player) will i need a headphone amp to hear. Will just the headphone outs be loud enough?

ive been reading up on soundproffing my iso room, and i wand to do something like rc, and then drywall, sheetblock, drywall. What can i use besides expensive auralex rc and sheetblock stuff. What do you use?

what does the back of an xlr wall plate look like. I am looking into building some xlr wall plates into my iso room but i dont know where to start. do i have to wire it myself, or will the wall mounts be like a super short cord, (without the cord.) (two connectors wired together in one housing)

I am working on an iso room, and my control room shares one wall with it. I have some xlr wall plates that i will be mounting, but is there something similar for headphones. Basically, i want a 1/4 female wall mount. And then do i put a male mount somehow on the side of the control room?

PA system, 160 watt powered mixer, six channels, Traynor, 7 band EQ, very nice-$150 two 12" floor/monitors. can be put on their sides or upright, both work well. 200 watts handeling $125 for pair $250 for whole package. save 25 bucks! oh, and it comes with two speaker cables!

does this sound like what i want? (rigid fiberglass) found it in the local newspaper today Rigid foam insulation panels. Any size, any thickness. 10 cents/sq ft and up. if this is rigid fiberglass, what thickness would you recommend?

i just switched computers, and now when i plug in the fostex, it says it cant find the drivers. where would i get drivers for the mr8. are they on their website, (i couldnt find em)
