PSP Master Comp PPM meter question...

Does anyone know for sure if their PPM meters- indicate gain reduction? I presume they are, but the odd thing is they can show reduction (presumably of peaks) but almost regardless of how slow the attack is set, which doesn't seem to add up with the attack settings.

Doubbled up foil faced board question..

Just wondering what happens acoustically to foil faced fiberglass boards when you double them up foil sides together? I.e. if fiber of one at 1.5" deep is effective down to 'x frequencies, are the two similar or the same as glass 3" deep? I should know this by now..

    A Tube Delay..

:p It's actually what you call a delay relay - or time delay. It's out of an old air conditioner built in the early 80's. Tubes, amplifiers and such in control circuits were phasing out about then. You can see the heater coils in the first one and sort of see the contact points in this second one.

Here's an odd one - sealing wire rope end?

I need to make some small dia wire rope loops 1/16 or 3/32" to secure/tie downs. What's an easy way to seal the end from unraveling? Don't think I want crimp on' - although that might work, they need to fit into releasable clips I'm about to check out. 'Brazing - ick. Maybe dip them in an epoxy? :)

The late night tube sag' question

I been wondering about something I've observed, and was talking to a few other players about; and that's amps seeming to have less clean headroom as a night goes on, and rumors and speculations that it could be partly due to the amp's build up of heat? Now its also reasonable that other factors...

Add a SATA drive to an IDE only PC?

I'm trying to keep an old PC DAW going by adding a SATA drive. The searches all seem to be aimed at attaching a SATA adapter and drive on to the IDE cable, but it looks like it has to be one drive, and the master. But can you keep the existing C' drive and add a SATA second drive?

Old C-5900 may have finally found a home - upright bass

I had this condenser from way back and never got on with it on live vocal, but lookie here.. Folks in for a four piece live in the house, doing a 'comfy old style is the call. He gets a real nice (best/most usable I've come across so far) tone on his p/u, and last time in we used that and the...
