    Help please with zoom r24

Having a recorded track on track 1 will not affect the ability to record on track 9. That would defeat the entire premise of being able to have 24 tracks. Go back to track 1 and see if you can change the light to red as an experiment. You should be able to. If it's red already......change it...

    Help please with zoom r24

I assume you arrmed the track (red light). You still have to set up track 9 for effects and preamp volume and slider volume....etc. Any settings you had for the previous bank (1-8) on the input / track you plugged your mic into are not applied to the same input in the next bank. As for slider...

    The Infamous Fostex MN-50

I've used this with a number of different PA setups over the years. The mic was mostly a Shure SM57 until recent years when I've used it with my Sennheiser e935....direct into the MN-50 and out to the PA of course. It works better in lower volume venues. It's more "touchy" to adjust for...

    The Infamous Fostex MN-50

I bought a Fostex X15 four track back around 1985 or so. It came with an MN-50. The X15 was a pretty good recorder. I was so thrilled to have a whole 4 tracks and the ability to bounce and add more tracks!! I later gave the X15 to an old band friend but ended up keeping the MN-50. I used...

Technology is not my best friend! but I'm trying to get along

If it's not too far out of the way......I'd go back to the store and tell them about your problem. It's likely that there's nothing wrong.....but if you let them know that you think there is.....and will be returning the set if you can't find the answer......my guess is they'll do their best to...

    Corona virus impact

As far as live gigs.......it's been a while since I cared to play them........well before covid. However....after leaving live playing....there were a couple different groups of guys I used to get together with to jam and work out originals and just have some fun. Covid has really killed all...

Studio One randomly disappearing audio tracks

Does it happen randomly? In other words......if you play a render and it loses certain tracks......does replaying it right away ever change what tracks dropped out or when they dropped out? Are you using any 3rd party VST's / effects? Does a render that has no effects play ok or have the same...

    Recording vocals in stereo?

Using one mic to record vocals........I make sure to put the take on a stereo track in Reaper so I can easily use stereo effects if I want to. IMO a vocal with few other tracks.....like maybe an accoustic and one other element can be accentuated with the use fo sublte stereo effects. Mick

Not available for store pick up?

Yeah...lately GC isn't carrying in the store as much as they did before. My question is........what if you need to return it? Can you take it back to GC or do you have to ship it? There are so many little things....and big things....that can go wrong...or be wrong with a shipped guitar you...

What are your top 10 most influential albums?

Come on man......I can't pick a top ten. In my lifetime there have been dozens of albums that changed my thinking and direction in some way or other. The very first one to do that? Meet The Beatles I was 11 when they hit the Ed Sullivan show. Right after....the album came out...as I...

What are some mixing tips that always work?

Yeah...I get why you might say to not solo the track.......but at least as you begin to adjust......solo tracks to be sure they sound right to begin with.....as if they are just being played in front of you for the first time. You may not like the tone or you may......or it may have too much...

    Dp32 screen failiure

Oh brother.......that's not likely to be good. I have a DP24 that I only use as a mixer these days but have not had any issues with the display. None of the 6 buttons to the left of the display do anything? Had you made any changes to anything (power supply.....DP32 settings....etc.) just...

    Spectrum Analyzers. Great tool!

Confident people are ok with saying...."hey if that's how you feel....cool!" We just disagree". I've read every word of this thread......(holy crap).....and you've made your point and opinion known....and Rob has made his point and opinion known. I personally don't see a complete right or...

    The Chair

I like a nice plush swivel / rocker chair for working at the desk / computer. For playing guitar however......I've always had trouble with swivel rockers. When I lean back my feet can leave the floor and my playing doesn't feel stable. Just me I guess. Could be because I played a lot of...

    Spectrum Analyzers. Great tool!

How the hell did a simple conversation about spectrum analyzers (a simple tool you can either choose to use or not choose to use and certainly don't NEED to get your mix done) get to this point? Amazing and entertaining....and another example of how people have GREAT difficulty taking in a...
