    Songwriting Percentages

I basically have the same sort of agreement with my songwriting buddy. We decided years ago that we would be equal partners in whatever happens during our song writing, producing, recording journey. Rob’s way seems the best. Get some revenue, pay the expenses, split the rest according to your...

    Taco Night

Awesome I remember this one too. I feel the lead vox could be a slight nudge up but you can still hear them well as they play with other frequencies well. Cool song

What did you produce in the Lockdown years?

We did Take The Wheel during COVID lockdown. Our first efforts at recording. Some of it is pretty rough but we learned a lot. Released through CDBaby

    Hot Soccer Mom

I have stated in various areas in this forum that I’m not entirely comfortable giving my opinions on others music because I don’t really feel qualified, and or trust my own judgement. It’s nice to be involved in a positive experience with those regards, it’s helpful for me to start trusting...

    Hot Soccer Mom

Liking it trip. Got a little John Lennon in the vocals especially when they’re breaking a bit. Nice. Bu sound, great guitars nice and cutting. I found the bass and kick were a little loose sounding to me maybe cause I thought kick was a bit too up front that could be shaking up the bass a bit...

    Mixing With Console vs ITB

Many of you here started on analogue and then moved to computer based recording and mixing. For myself, and I’m sure many others, there is no way I could even be involved in recording without going the digital route. For a reasonable investment to get started I have the ability to record to 8...

Lazy River -New master by Gary Brun-

Jumping in on the “oh yah “ bandwagon. Nice work

New song slightly remixed. Would appreciate feedback.

Not my thang but I’d get rid of the robot voice during the verses at least, and maybe leave them in the chorus.

Mykonos (Fleet Foxes cover) - Folk Rock

Awesome. Crystal clear vocals, sweet harmonies, acoustic guitar is really nice, and the strings are great too. What could possibly need changing.

    Boob Job

Sounded good to me. Nice delivery on the lyrics and bu vocals. Funny too 👍👍

I hope it's ok that I make this point

Your start looks a bit different than mine. Maurice who writes 99% of the lyrics will have a song written and play it for us just with an acoustic guitar. If we like it ( which we always do ) then the next step is to record a scratch track with him performing the song at the relative speed and...

    How to input guitar?

This is exactly how I am going to record my next elect guitar part. I’ve been struggling for a decent sound also and thought I could blend the Mike with the di plus vst tones to taste. Time will tell. Next project coming up in a couple months

New song: Force 10 From Nantgarw

Second version much better to my ears but at about 1:12 just after the snare hit there is a constant higher frequencies part on the hard left side that I’m having trouble with. Maybe pan it a bit closer to centre so it’s not so noticeable on the left. Cheers

Another (small) mixing-room build... (with before/after results)

And a 3d printer thrown in for good measure

    "Hear the Call"

That’s quite impressive with so much going on. Kinda reminds me of Zappa I probably would just bump that vocal up a hair but that’s just me. I can’t even imagine creating a song like this. Ima gonna put it on my Spotify playlist. Cheers. Guy

    Girl from the North Country

That was pretty friggin decent. Yah Eric is right you can sing. I did get a little harshness also but vocal didn’t seem too loud to me. If I could do anything remotely close to that I’d be happy Guy

Fret Not If Your Guitar Doesn’t Perfectly Intonate Up Down The Fretboard

Thanks for that article 60’s guy. Yah I’ve been struggling with intonation issues lately. Maybe I’ll experiment with some different string gauges and see if that helps a bit. I’m playing an epiphone sg and it’s sounding wonky to me. Trouble is I can get the intonation between the open note and...
