Wrote and recorded this today - lemme know what you think
Version 5 (3/26/12)
Re-recorded the guitar parts with new amp - opened some space up for the drums, reduced the vocal reverb.

Version 4: (New arrangement - guitar tone)...
Here is the new version
Lotsa editing in this one.
EDIT: I found some more footage on another camera and decided to edit this again to change up some of the flow and make it less repetitious - so this is the first version. Am working on the second one now... :o
If you have any suggestions...
This seemed to work a little better than my last few attempts
Thanks everyone who gave feedback - update: Made a video

Version 4 - brought up guitars and mids in bass - think I...
This song has been giving me a real hard time - at this point I don't even know what to think about it anymore
maybe some fresh ears can give me some feedback

I currently use only compressor and leveling amp plug-ins, no actual hardware comps. I was considering purchasing a RNLA or RNC for my vocals but I am wondering how much of a difference it will actually make. Can anyone give me some feedback about hardware versus software for compressors.
Right...
Maybe we could integrate this with the interface thread or something - I think one thing that we take for granted and newbs do not understand is that a mixer is not an interface, an interface is not usually a mixer, although some interfaces have mixers... Anyway - to make it more complicated it...
These dragonfire pickups seem to sound pretty good - very similar to the EMG's and much better than the harsh INF1's on my ibanez
Dragonfire White Pickup Set, 81/ 85, Works with EMG! | eBay
I got $20 in ebay bucks so I could get the pickups for like $60 as opposed to like $150 for the EMG's...
I don't know much about pickups, but I know that I don't like the Ibanez INF1 and INF2 pickups in my ibanez rgt42dx
I do like the rest of the guitar but since I have been playing my les paul and just picked up a sweet custom SG with EMG 81/85 active pickups, I just can't deal with the high-end...
OK - I deleted the first draft and think I got it where I want it now
Yeah it's all stock... this is the first draft - just finished it so will probably be making some edits
made it wide screen - not sure why youtube smooshed it....
hope ya like it :p
suggestions are appreciated

Brought the bass and kick up some, the vox a little, and added a couple guitar tracks...
Ok,
I been building bass traps and broadband absorbers. Anyway - I got corner traps in all 4 corners, not fully floor to ceiling yet, but I have made some great improvements in the overall sound and leveling the graphs using REW.
I just finished up 3 more traps yesterday and decided to do some...
in audacity if you apply compression to a track, it changes the waveform image to reflect the new levels, is there a way to see the effect of compression or any other plug-in on the wave form in cubase le4?
Ok, so I came up with what I think is a pretty sweet concept for a gobo bass trap for my corners. I have closet doors so I need something portable so I came up with a square 15"15" x 48" tall square column (obelisk?) to act as a corner superchunk.
It uses 3 panels of Roxul safe-n-sound which is...
Made a 6" thick corner panel and a 3" thick wall panel.
Frequency reduction so far:
24" face x 6"
16" x 48" x "3
next panels I will use cornerbead on the faces to keep them striaghter. Used them on the corner trap and they look great - I thought the extra wood on top and bottom of...
