Fostex D160 R/MOUNT h/DISCS Has anyone had any experience with these rack mount recorders.........if so, what are they like ?

We are looking to purchase a Mackie 24 channel 8 buss desk as well as a Fostex D16 h/disc recorder. If anyone has used either of these, I would like to hear your opinions. Also, realisically, how much difference is there between 20bit/44khz and 24bit/96khz.
