This computer will be just a DAW, online only to download things for the DAW. That reminds me: how many milliseconds will I have at the end of the process before W10 tries to update something? My first project will be to make some modifications, such as updating, and no doubt other stuff...

I'm going to put Windows 10 on a 2TB SSD, and I read about initializing, which is foreign to me. A guy at the computer shop said that when the system asks if you want to initialize, you can ignore it. That's even more confusing. It sounds to me as if initializing is the same as, or similar...

That's what I need. My old steel string dreadnought is too much for my fingers, so something of those dimensions, but with gut or nylon strings, would be much easier on the fingers and fingertips. Anywhere from $250 to $1,000. I do a bit of fingerpicking. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks very much for those replies. They are excellent and helpful. I ask this: do you use external drives at all now? I will have a 1T. SSD (i7-6700 (3.4GHz) - 32GB) tomorrow, extensions or not, connected (when necessary) by cable, not wi-fi, W10.

What do you think of the idea? I've heard that SSF can be noisy, have only one drive tray, and other flaws, but a lot of SFF Dells, for example, have been good business machines. Are they acceptable as DAWs if quick enough? Thank you.
