ok, newbie question
whats the difference between 4 bus and 8 bus? what the hell is a bus? if i just want something for recording with the ins/outs on each channel..?
I have been using an akai dps16 for all of my recordings...and i am looking into upgrading to a separate board and per say a 24 channel recorder... but i was wondering how they connect etc. so i can look into what i should get??? Do you record through the console (plugging your shit thru it)...
got another question......... since the RNC is 'stereo' does that mean that you can have 2 different signals running thru it? or would you have to buy a separate RNC for each appliance?
You guys seem to be TOTALLY against behringer and you've given your explanations etc... BUT.. The Behringer MX9000 looks totally sweet.. it has "won awards" and gotten great reviews. And for a 24 channel mixer $1500 is a swwwweeeeeeeeeet deal. What do you guys say
I dont know why but i have always been instructed to patch for example a guitar that was running a mono signal, and turn it into two. (using two tracks panned left and right) What's the difference if I just did it as one track and panned it in the middle? I could understand if I wanted to...
I'm tired of people not giving me a chance because I'm 15. Maybe you guys won't judge.... Tell me what you think. I'm the drummer and do the recording in the band. I know the vocals are off at some parts but this is just a rough mix. Just listen and tell me what you think!
Thanks in...
I have a TDK cd recorder and i want to make a digital connection from my akai... It only came with one cable, and the manual states there is a difference between standard RCA cables and "digital" RCA cables. Is there really a difference?
Radio shack has these "instrument mics" that have the drum rim clip etc. I know everything from Radioshack is supposed to be crap, but these look decent. I've heard a recording where someone used them and they sounded just as good as anything else i've heard, and they look rad for $50 a pop...
Do you guys think it matters to use either the sm58 or sm57 on a snare? Everyone says to use the sm57 but I don't think it makes a difference. Thanks
Tyler
Pardon my complete ignorance....i have a preamp and it has the option of a balanced XLR out and an unblanced 1/4" out and i'd like to know the difference. Thanks a lot
