A midi keyboard, a few Kontakt instruments and a vocal sample...

I like this. Quite listenable. Not sure how it was put together, but good job. Maybe a little too much highs on the guitars, but it's a real nit. Are the guitars midi?

    Nothing Remains

Thanks. I do have other (limited) midi samples for the drums. I’ll play around with it and see what I can come up with. Yeah, I wanted a reverby harp, but maybe I can back off a tad. ? Work to do, I guess.

    Manslick - Come Home

I'm with spantini on this one. Not crazy about the intro, but around :38 it gets very nice. Catchy. Pleasant to listen to. Keep at it.

    Nothing Remains

Actually I probably agree. But I got nothing at the moment. Just not hearing anything.

    Nothing Remains

Good feedback. I posted an updated mix - although it's probably not the final one. You made me realize the keys and the harmonica were both panned to the right. So I moved the harmonica to the left. I alsao lowered the right acoustic - I figured that would help balance the left, and maybe...

Everyone needs a dirge in their life on occasion. :)

    Nothing Remains

So I'm a little buzzed right now - consequently this is probably sounding better to me than it might otherwise. But you guys will cure that. I'm sure. :) Essentially this is pretty much a live recording. Except that the initial mix had a DI guitar. We deleted that and re-tracked two mic'd...

NightError … new original tune (rock, alternative, soft punk?!)

Pleasant to listen to. Everything is clear and distinct. Intro is a tad long.

Feedback on my Mix/Master... I'd like to finish the track up this week and I'm at my wit's end with it

Pretty nice. Kinda a John Meyer feel. I'd back off on the reverb on the guitars a bit - particularly the rhythm. Pleasant listen.

    Final with Video.....

Not my cup of tea at all, so take it with a grain of salt. That said, despite more compression than I'd like, everything is clear and distinct. Good harmony. Good mix.

    Down On My Luck

The song and the performance are impeccable. Kudos. I'm not quite sure about the mix though. The drums are a bit odd, but they do grow on you after a bit. Guitars and vocals are both very nice, but they may be competing with each other a little. Might want to eq them a bit. All in all...

    Solaris song/mix/Video thoughts

Gotta agree. Two minutes in and nothing is happening. The sounds are all good, but they're like a bed - and 2 minutes is pretty long to listen to a bed. And the vocals are nice once they arrive. All in all a very nice listen. Mix is good. Gotta chop that intro though - a lot. Maybe the...

    77 Minutes in Uvalde

Nice. Mix-wise could stand a little less in the highs.

    The Triumphant Son

Mix-wise, too much reverb on the instrument tracks, and probably not enough on the vocal. The vocal sounds pretty dry, which I like, but it puts it in a different space the the rest of the recording. I used to fool around quite a bit with MIDI. But no idea you could do a vocal with it. :o...

From The Start (Laufey cover) - mix feedback

This grew on me as it played. I agree with 3M, the vocal got better as the song went along. The mix is a little too in your face for me. Maybe back off the limiter a bit and give it some air. Particularly in this genre. Vocal could use maybe just a tad more reverb. Catchy.

    Cakewalk by Bandlab installation disc

Just checked Reaper. $60. Not bad at all. I think I paid around $500 for Pro Audio 9, and then a few more shekels over the years for upgrades. But I don’t deal well with new learning curves at my age. If CbB puts the new Sonar out at a similar price, I might go for that. In the meantime...

    Cakewalk by Bandlab installation disc

I got burned by this already. Bought a fairly expensive orchestral instrumentation package from Native Instruments. Loaded it on my computer, and used it for a couple of projects. A couple of years later, I installed a new hard drive, and went to reload it on the new drive. I had 4 DVDs...

    Cakewalk by Bandlab installation disc

Ok, I took the plunge and downloaded/installed CbB. Everything went well, and it’s so close to Sonar there’s essentially no learning curve. ?? But I have one question. The installation process has you download a small install file. Then it grabs additional files from the web as needed during...

Cakewalk by Bandlab is restructuring !

Haven’t visited this forum in awhile. Like many of you, I’m a longtime Cakewalk user (pro audio 9 iirc). Stayed with them through Sonar X3, which happens to be what I still use. It obviously hasn’t been updated in years, but it does everything I need it to do. Running it on Win 10. Bandlab...

Let the Rockin' do the Talkin'

Not my genre, so take my comments in that light. Guitars are nice and thick. There's a bit of conflict though between the guitars and vocals. Not sure what it is. There is one guitar panned pretty close to the middle. Maybe move that to the right more. Open up some space for the vox,. But...
