Korg Pitch Black. Better, slicker and cheaper than TU-3 in my opinion. Better visibility in the dark. For example a TU-3 couldn't tune the low C on a five string bass of a friend of mine. The Korg did it without any problems. Also, it's true bypass if that matters to you (which it doesn't really...
I've heard many people track bass direct. Do you?
If you do, do you use any plugins? If not, how do you mic your amp?
I'm not asking what's best. I'm asking what you prefer and why.
I was wondering if there are any good reasons (except price) for not using 4" panels for first reflection points and cloud. I see most panels labeled "acoustic panels" are 2", but wouldn't full range absorption be preferable?
The only reason I can imagine is the waves hitting first reflection...
Is this your amp?
If so I am pretty sure you should disconnect the speaker and go from the speaker out on your amp to the Palmer. Make sure the impedance is matching.
Be careful though. DO NOT run the amp without anything connected to the speaker outs, or you could damage the amp (not very...
I figured I want a computer to use for recording music and nothing else. No internet, no nothing except Reaper, audio interface drivers and plugins. If I need something I guess I could just download it on the main computer and transfer it on a USB stick. Will probably get an external hard drive...
Probably a stupid question, but... I've heard mixers in the past only had a choice between hard right, center and hard left. Why didn't they just duplicate a track, have one panned right and one panned left, then adjust the faders to where they wanted the track panned? I'm sure copying a tape...
It's time to get that room treated. First of all, I know it would be cheaper to build acoustic panels myself. Nevertheless I've decided to buy some panels instead.
At this point I'm not going to need very good treatment below 50Hz as my monitors (Sonodyne SM100AK) do not carry a lot below that...
Great, so if they are not currently soldered I could use one of these:
Neutrik NA3 JJ - stereo 1/4" jack adapter (TRS)
And one of these:
Cordial CTL 5 PP, prof. Speaker cable, 500cm, 2x 2,5 mm², 6,3mm Plug/6,3mm Plug
?
I'll look into whether or not they're soldered tomorrow. Thanks a lot...
Hey thanks. Yeah, impedance, of course.
My intended setup is Heritage Victory combo -> AC30 speakers inside ISO cab.
I don't mind the footprint being big as I'm not going to move this thing around. You are probably right though, it would probably be better to just have the speaker by itself...
I'm going to build a relatively large ISO box so I can use my amp without disturbing the neighbors. I figured I was going to place a Heritage Victory combo inside of it, but soon realized that it would generate too much heat.
I've got this AC30 that I want to keep and figured that maybe I could...
Simple but important question:
Is it harmful to my AC4C1 (4 watts tube amp) just turning the power strip it is connected to off instead of actually switching the amp off? The amp doesn't have a standby switch. Does just disconnecting the power do anything else than the on/off switch does? If it...
Having two great amps (a Vox AC30 and a Heritage Victory) I find myself usually having to practice and even record through an amp sim due to living in a basement apartment with a paperthin ceiling and a family living upstairs. You can actually hear what people are talking about at normal...
I'm probably about to pick up a Heritage Victory combo. It has 6V6 tubes so it should be in the realms of Deluxe Reverb. Has anyone got any experience with these amps?
Was not sure where to post this, but I'll let it serve as inspiration. This dude has got a pretty nice setup. I especially liked the speaker vault in his garage and his custom made amp switcher.
I've got a couple of preamps, a drum set, a bunch of guitars, some mics and other stuff lying around but I can't really use them in this apartment due to paper thin walls. I'm gonna have to find another place to live. So here's what it looks like today:
Just stumbled upon this thing. Looks exciting but I am skeptical. Can laser vibrometers really measure drum head vibrations in a way that would translate to representative sounds? Could there be a future with this or is it actually just a joke?

My AC30C2x is really messed up. I turn it on and the volume is really low and muddy, and there are these crackling sounds coming out of it that is much louder than the guitar. Sounds like breaking ice, you know like cracking glaciers that you might have seen on television. I figured it was the...
I've been messing around with the idea of getting a used Korg D3200 and put that in my music room where my amp is. I can't really make any noise in the living room where my computer and audio Interface is at. They seem to have lots of possibilities and they're not really expensive. Of course...
