How do I get rid of this rustling noise in my VO vocals?

Thanks for the feedback and for the kind words. I get what you’re saying and it is something I’m working on, though to be fair you’re getting a particularly bland showing in this thread since there isn’t a whole lot of excitement to be had during closing credits lol here is my commercial demo...

How do I get rid of this rustling noise in my VO vocals?

I scrapped my entire editing process and put something new together... what do you guys think of this (in terms of editing)? Mildly NSFW:

Is there any plugin I could get that could recognize and shorten silences?

I do audiobook narration and its generally good practice to silence/reduce breaths and then shorten the gaps by at least 30%. My current process for audiobook processing is to create a duplicate of my vocal track and the apply a noise gate to one of them set at the average RMS amplitude to cut...

How do I get rid of this rustling noise in my VO vocals?

Such is the life of a freelance voice over artist lol The other day I got paid to do an audiobook for a rich middle schooler from UAE. It was atrocious and the english was almost unmanageable. At one point, I'm pretty sure the line I was supposed to read was "you're blunt!" but they had written...

How do I get rid of this rustling noise in my VO vocals?

Thanks for your feedback, I'll tinker with the compression. As far as inflection, they wanted me to replicate a specific cadence they use on their youtube channel that sounds really unnatural (at least for me anyways). As far as crafts, I didn't write the script ;) the channel seems to be based...

How do I get rid of this rustling noise in my VO vocals?

After normalizing, adding compression, deesser, and noise reduction I'm left with a small rustling noise, heard here under the words "welcome back" and "like the ultra heavy" and "military". Is this a mic technique issue? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

    Help recording quiet foley work

I appreciate the tip, but I need something longer (like ~5 min) and realistic.

    Help recording quiet foley work

I am in a closet already, unfortunately I live in a teeny tiny little apartment so my recording space options are limited.

    Help recording quiet foley work

Hmm I didn't think about covering the mic. I'll see if that helps. The background noise can be heard during the sound since the sound is pretty quiet. I don't like room noise in my audio if I'm not editing for ACX or something similar that requires a noise floor, so running a quick de-noise...

    Help recording quiet foley work

Hey guys I've posted here before about the fact that I do adult voice acting work. People often want SFX/foley work involved and for the most part I can figure it out or find something on a sound effect site. Things like creaky beds, ass smacking, etc Sigh... you guys are going to love this...

Rode NT1 or Sennheiser MK4 for Voice Over?

I recently posted about upgrading from a Shure SM58 to an EV RE20 for voice over. I really like the EV RE20 overall and will keep using it, but I do think some of the nuance is lost with it and most VO most people recommend a condenser mic, so I'm thinking of adding one to my gear collection...

Moving soon...what is the ideal type of space for home recording VO?

Thanks for the tip, I really want to get a whisper room. Though I am a bit confused... what makes a sound treated closet bad and a recording booth good? The advice I got recently was to try to open up my recording space (move from a smaller closed closet to a larger open closet with a quilt...

Moving soon...what is the ideal type of space for home recording VO?

I've posted a bunch here on my challenges recording VO from my current apartment. I live in San Diego county next to a freeway AND the main road in town and there are a lot of unmuffled motorcycles, big diesel trucks, blaring music etc and now my neighbors are doing something where they are...

Soundproofing against plumbing pipe in ceiling?

So I’ve posted a bunch about setting up my recording space and based on feedback from here I switched my recording space from a small closed closet to a larger open closet for voice over work (I have a 600 sqft apt so options are limited) and it overall sounds better. however, I did not know...

Maybe dumb question about Beyerdynamic DT770s

I I get what you are saying. Right now just the de-noise tends to do the trick, I don’t think it’s as bad as I’m making it seem lol. I posted this unedited clip from my current set up in a different thread not too long ago. Working on my technique to be less sibilant, that’s the main thing...
