Is there such thing as too much studio foam or sound treatment in a vocal booth?
If so where is the fine line?
common problems?
thanks
oh yeah- working with a small space (bout 4X3- 9ft tall) not doing anything "screamy"- if anything softer voice-over shit.
I do voice overs, mix promos for radio.
I'm pretty happy with the sound I'm getting Vocal-wise (with the exception of needing a bit more sound treatment in vocal booth). . .stay with me here. . .
Here's what I got. . .
GT66
Brick
RNC
KRK RP 8's
Delta 1010
I don't like radio where you can...
Outs on the Delta are RCA
In(s) and Outs on RNC are 1/4 in. . .unbal
What will I need to run my RCA outs to my 1/4 in in(s) then back to the Delta 1010. . .?
Thanks
Ok, so say I have a track that's mastered and ready to go. . .Peaks sitting at about -6 to -4. . .
What are the techie ramifications of bringing up the mix to -1.5 using say the Groove Tubes Brick. . .
I've done it before and I like what I hear. . .and since it's a clean pre with a bit of...
An engineer at my radio station was cleaning out the "back office" and asked me if there was anything I wanted (mind you this is the same guy who hooked me up with a classic VU DBX 160. . .which I turned around and sold for $600). He starts telling me about this Unit made by Harris Gates. ...
I have a Groove tubes GT-66 and a Brick pre. . .
Don't like the sound of the 66 through the brick, but would like to keep both the brick and the 66. . .so how do you think a RE-20 would sound through the brick? Compliment. . .or no. Anybody used this combo?
Thanks
Here is the setup
GT66
to a brick
to a Delta 1010
My question
The brick has a gain of like 25 db right off the bat (for mic)
WAY TO HOT!!!
even with the -10db pad (on mic) and the gain on the interface all the way down, I'm still getting way to hot of a signal. . .I take the brick out of the...
Here is some info and pic for those who inquired
A justified classic from the Ford Motor Co of compressors, DBX. DBX VCA's have always been some of the best and are widely used -- in SSL desks for example. This box rocks on kit and guitars and great for percussive instruments. We've all had to...
A workhorse of a unit. . .great on drums. . .aside from the light not working ($9.99/ebay), it's a champ.
any takers? . . .I have pics and all that good stuff
