    Mac Hardware Question

Thanks. I was eyeing this up. http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-302USB-Premium-5-Input-Interface/dp/B005EHILV4/ It looks simple as I only need to record one instrument at a time. It's USB but it doesn't seem to be USB2. I suppose the speed difference is why you made the distinction?

    Mac Hardware Question

Hobbyist here. I have been using a PC (with an Audigy sound card) for years and recording with Cubase. I have a MacBook Pro and was considering switching my setup over to that. However, I can't seem to find reliable information on a hardware. I already have a preamp that I like (Studio Projects...

    Latency/Problems with Plugins

    > Check your processor scheduling and make sure it is set to "Background Services" I missed this part of your post. Thanks - I'll see if that works.

    Latency/Problems with Plugins

Thanks a lot for the replies. > Not to start an argument but there is no good reason to track with the 96k sampling rate I'm doing some stuff for someone else, and they have requested the files at this bitrate. On top of that, as long as my system handles it, I'd prefer to record at the...

    Latency/Problems with Plugins

Is this something I should wait until mixing and then finalize all effects at the last minute? I assumed my setup would be able to handle this kind of realtime processing. Anyone?

    Latency/Problems with Plugins

Hello all. I finally upgraded to a Core Duo Quad with 4gb of RAM. Very excited to record at 96k 24bit in Cubase SX. So, things were going well until I add some plugins to the mix (mostly instances of Amplitube 2), and it started stuttering. I fediddled with my latency and other settings, made...

    2 tracks at once issue

I have the normal 1/4 in in the front, which I use for most recording. There is a line in and a mic in on the back, as well (1/8"). For the purposes of testing, I can use my acoustic's pickup preamp, so I have Condenser mic > preamp > 1/4" front input Guitar's on-board preamp > 1/4"-1/8"...

    2 tracks at once issue

No, it's not onboard - it's part of the Audigy setup - essentially, there is Audigy interface in the front (main bay interface) and back (sound card, perpendicularly hooked into the motherboard). Glad to hear you think it will work - I'll give it a try on Monday!

    2 tracks at once issue

I have an Audigy (I know, I know - they upsample), with a single 1/4 input in the front (along with MIDI, optical, etc.). I would like to record 2 tracks at once (acoustic guitar, 2 mics). Any ideas? Can I use an adapter to go from the second mic into an 1/8 male, plug that into the Audigy mic...

Starting to seriously record with Cubase. A simple question! (Bitrate/proj. settings)

Thanks! Just wanted to make sure I wouldn't really benefit from going any higher.

Starting to seriously record with Cubase. A simple question! (Bitrate/proj. settings)

Thanks guys, I've been using Cubase for some time, but am only now going about recording a full record. I have 2 GB of RAM in a 2.6 GhZ PC - what bitrate, etc. (project settings) should I record at to get the best possible sound without "overdoing it" (as in, "any higher and I won't notice a...

    Opinions needed! Roland TD-6SXT (around $1800) vs. Alesis DM5 Pro ($around 600).

Given my needs, would it be silly to pay more for the better kit? I live in a residential area and have to do most of my recording after 1 AM. I'm a perfectly capable, experienced drummer who hates hand-programming MIDI drums. So, my intention is to MIDI-out from a V-Kit, run the info through...
