    12 string Bang for Buck

So I'm sitting at home and it hits me,wow,I don't have a 12 string! I mean,I've written songs on 12 string,I've made records with a 12 string,I've busked with 12 strings.I DON'T HAVE A 12 STRING!!! (That's one of the down sides of moving a lot,too much stuff to carry.) So I get in the car and go...

    How About a Yamaha Forum?

I mean, they make great gear and I know a lot of folks are gonna want and get some of their new products like the AW2816 and the new synths. After all, they are a major manufacturer of musical equipment, right? Am I right,or am I right?

    Nice little guitar

While visiting family I went into a music store and played around with a Jackson PS-7,a Strat type with H-S-S pickups and a Wilkenson Trem.Nice neck, big frets on a flat board, nice trem, nice finish(Trans Green Flame top on Alder body). Nice price:$298,so I got it! Plus I found a set of EMGs...

    R-BUS cables

I was looking at the R-Bus connector on the back of the VSR880 and it looks just like a SCSI connector.Since no one in my area has any R-bus cables in stock,am I taking a risk if I hook up my gear with a regular SCSI cable?

    That Syncing Feeling

Anyone have an advice on a way to sync a VS880EX,a VSR880, a VM3100 Pro,and two MC50 MKii sequencers? The only new element in this chain is the VSR,I've been doing fine running the MC50's off a sync track on the EX,but now it appears I'm going to have to use MTC to slave the VSR to the EX,so I...

    Strings thru body bass

The other day I played on a bass called the Fender Precision Deluxe Lyte and I was impressed by the snappy, articulate sound it had with great sustain. When I put it down to try out something else,I noticed on the back that the strings go through the body. This got me wondering if doing a mod on my...

    EB Albert Lee guitar

Has anyone been playing this model long enough to give a comparison to Fender Strats/Teles (good ones, not cheapies)? I tried one for the 1st time on Sat. but the store was gonna close and I only had like 12 minutes.I already have an EB "Luke" which I find to be a superior instrument and my...

    E-Mu ESI2000

Do any of you own or have experience with this cost effective sampler? If I had this unit with the memory installed to allow full use of the 10 CDROM's,would I have a better pallette of sounds than if I spent the same amount on sound modules such as Proteus,JV1080,etc.?Thanks

    Audio Bliss

I just got my Tascam CDRW-700 on Wednesday, and tonight I put down a rough mix on a CD-RW.After finalizing,I put the disc into my Sony 200 CD changer(CDP-CX225) and it plays flawlessly! I'm really jazzed,it's the 1st time I'm hearing some of my own music through a noncompressed digital format,and...

    JV 1010 Channel on/off

Does anyone know a way to get the JV 1010 to not play certain designated MIDI channels when using it daisy chained with another sound module? As it is now,if I have piano on Ch.16 playing on the 1st module, the Thru makes the notes sound on the JV1010 as well.I'd like to be able to use each module...

    JS-5 Jamstation

I spent an hour or so listening to and fooling around with the new Boss JS-5 today at a local store. For it's intended use,I can see that it would be pretty cool to have around. If you are familiar with the Boss DR-5,this is a new version of that concept. You can set up chord changes and have them...

    For lovers of wood

I just saw something really interesting on The Learning Channel.A guy by the name of Scott Mitchen, who is a treasure hunter/diver,found thousands of maple logs in the bottom of a lake in Wisconson. These logs are the remains of lumber cut 50-75 years ago when lumber was a flourishing industry in...
