Teac 80 8 Channel Card RCA Wiring

Yes, my mistake, I meant relays. I honestly do not know if they are DPDT or not....

Teac 80 8 Channel Card RCA Wiring

Alright, so you are saying to replace all the opamps on all 8 of the cards?

Teac 80 8 Channel Card RCA Wiring

Wow! Thanks for the responses. I have been having this issue for sometime now but I honestly haven't made time to work on it....I like the idea of the relays. I had been getting some electronic advice from someone else and he was recommending possibly the power supply?? That is exactly the...

Teac 80 8 Channel Card RCA Wiring

Thank you Alfredo! My cables were plugged in incorrectly. Unfortunately my recording issue is still occurring.....It was working alright with the cables reversed, but now the slapback issue is back again, now occurring in NORM mode while recording.

Teac 80 8 Channel Card RCA Wiring

I need to know the proper wiring for the channel card amplifiers on the Teac 80 8 deck. They were incorrectly plugged in after a calibration and sat for sometime. The current way they're plugged in is (from top to bottom, looking at card from outside of deck) RED, ORANGE, BROWN. I am having a...

    Teac 80 pop issue

I have noticed over the past few uses that my Teac pops really loudly when I stop, RW/FW. It pops loudly in my speakers and when I arm/disarm the tracks for recording. Anyone come across this issue before?

    Op amp newb question

Good information! Thanks for the responses. I forgot to check the posting over the past few days. I'll be looking into the links posted> I know for sure I'll have some more questions I'll need answering.

    Op amp newb question

I have somewhat of a simple question. When following a basic schematic when it shows an op amp, must that component be powered? Or can you use the signal from a preamp going into it as the power? I'm trying to build a simple mixer (above) with stereo outs. (2 mono ins with pan-pots) I'm...

Teac 80 8 Head azimuth adjustment

That must be the large screw in the middle of the head. Yes, the scope on the monitor head was almost perfect but the norm head is off slightly. The deck got hit pretty hard a while ago and I feared their might be an azimuth error. Thankfully it wasn't a big error. When I popped on an older...

Teac 80 8 Head azimuth adjustment

Nope, page 10 of my manual has a diagram noting the azimuth screw adj. Their is a large screw adj. in between the record and monitor heads but I did not touch them. I only tried adjusting one screw on the monitor head to see if an adjustment would be made. Nothing happened.

Teac 80 8 Head azimuth adjustment

Just had a quick question: I went to adjust my azimuth on my deck. I followed the manual directions adjusting the two small screws behind the head, BUT nothing changed, the head didn't move up or down and my oscilloscope didn't change. Has the head sat so long that it will not move? Or am I...

    Otari MRL and Multimeter

The only issue is, those instructions don't match my B2-HD model. I don't have as many adjustment pots. The only adjustments that I have, which I adjusted with the MRL were VR 102 and VR 202 15 & 7.5 REP EQ. That's what my model has. SW 101 and 201 are the source/tape switches on my deck. I...

    Otari MRL and Multimeter

Ok, so hopefully to put this thread to rest soon here, apparently I had not been checking my output level from my oscillator to my tape deck, which was why I could not get the hi freq up to 4dbm. So after thoroughly checking everything, I can say that everything has matched to the +4dbm called...
