I have found that the dreaminess is all in delay. You want reverb, but focus on getting swirly sounding delays. Usually I have 2 tracks of AUX delay if I'm going for an effect. One track is set with a delay that bounces randomly and loses bass frequencies as it decays. Another track is used...

Thanks. A while back I restored my computer without the built in crap and essentially had Windows 7 on it. Nothing else. I did a fresh install of my interface drivers and had the same problems. I've found quite a few work arounds in the process though. xD

Sounds pretty good, as usual. :p I really like that kind of uneven timing thing you do in the intro. Drums sound good, but they sound a bit darker than usual. Also, have you ever experimented with room mics?

Both sides are out of tune during the verse strums. It's pretty good during everything else. It's that dumb A Chord. My guitar hates that one as well. It's an intonation problem, the pick's attack that temporarily bends the note out of tune, or it's just simply out of tune. Same goes for...

Greg is a ketchup lover. The song is pretty good too I guess... :D I think it could use a bit more low end, and maybe at the end of the solo (sick solo by the way) add a longer reverb tail. It died out to quickly for me. Do you use track templates then just tweak the mix at the end to fit...

Noise gates just silence audio if it is under a certain volume. When you speak, the noise gate can't differentiate between whether it's your voice or background noise. As soon as your volume goes over the volume threshold on the gate, it lets all audio through.

I guess I'll have to do some shopping around then. I would like to play some things and get a feel for what I want.

Yeah, there are tons. Reaper allows you to use any VSTi. Just do a search on google for the virtual instrument you want while specifying it's a VST. For example, "Bass VSTi." Once you download the .zip file (usually .zip anyway...) you can just put the .dll file in Reaper's plug-in directory.

I'm guessing Alesis DM6 is my best option.
