By far the best set of acoustic drums ive heard on a keyboard is the SRX Dynamic Drums by roland. Unfortunately i dont own even the cheapest XV2020 module to pop the SRX Drum card in. But, I do have a Yamaha S80 and recently stumbled onto a plug in card i havent seen by them called the Live...

seems a bit noisy to be, and its also a pretty colorful preamp
good for price though :)
i really like the Alesis M-1s...you can get them cheap now too since Alesis is in the trouble.
pretty much all of the stuff isnt that bad, justlet your ears be the final judge..
one set i DIDNT like though, Behringer Truth-B's....they sound like Hi-Fi speakers to me...

have you tried it yet....? id say i like the action of the keys, and there is definitely enough parameters in there to get what sound you are looking for. The presets sound very nice...id say the ms200 would be a excellent analog modeler for someone who plays...

The proteus is really nice, but it all really depends on what your ears want to hear.. For me to recommend one thing may be totally different then how you want to hear something in your head. So make sure you try all of em out so YOU are happy with what you have in the long run :)...

i have a mixer in between the computer and the monitors..i like it this way exactly for what Gidge said its used for. Adjusting levels quickly without going though the computer is a nice treat. BUt of course some will prefer just keeping it all in the computer. just to reinforce...
