    Tascam Dm 24 controlling Cubase

Sinds a couple of months I own a tascam dm24 digital mixer and I really like it. My problem is that I want the Tascam to control Cubase SX but I can't figure out how to do this. The midi input level in cubase seems to work so the settings in my mixer should be ok but nothing happens. Can...

    VST Performance

All my plugins are original full version plugs (most of hem are from 'waves'). I think my pc is clean. Because I record guitars each consisting out of three mics and thus three tracks the number of tracks add up very quick. That means I need a lot of different eq's because I use different...

    VST Performance

I'm using a AMD Athlon 1,10 Ghz Processor and I have 512 MB of Ram. Yes I use sends when that's possible but for Eq that isn't since all my guitar tracks consist out of 3 tracks because I've recorded them with 3 mics. Yes my computer is completely free from cracks at all times when no plug-ins...

    VST Performance

I'm recording a demo in cubase at the moment but I have problems with the performance of my pc when I use a lot of inserts (especially reverbs). I see the CPU performance meter is up to 50 % and I hear a lot of cracks. So I know I have to update my pc. Does this mean that all my problems are...

    Asking for a miracle.

You really should buy a C1, I have one myself and it's great on almost everything but especially on vox. Phantom-Power is 48v that's required on most condensers like a C1. Dynamic mics don't need it.

    Bass drum mic technique

You can try to put the cad 3 feet out in front like eeldip said, for me this works great if I want I fuller sound but I don't think that's your problem. For thump you need to put a mic in the hole or even inside the kick. Changing the beater like coplinger said seems to be the solution or even...

    Bass drum mic technique

From what type of wood is the bassdrum? What is it you don't like in the recorded sound? Does the front head has a hole in it, if not....please make one, it sounds so much better. I have a beta 52 too and a friend of mine told me I should have the blue ring exactly at the point where the...

    Best Cymbal Sound

Nice thought but I just have to do it with 8 channels right now so that's not an option. Maybe with an extra adat card in my tascam I will try. In my last setup I tried the overhead above the outer part of the cymbal on a height the cymbal is a hair away from hitting the mic. This seems to work...

    Best Cymbal Sound

Since a day or two I am recording drums and I am very happy with the sound I get by close micing, but not so happy with my overheads. The thing is that I don't want them to pick up to much of the other parts of my kit but just the cymbals. For instance when I am setting up gain level at the OH...

    Difference between MD421's

Yes I know, but I want to know what the difference is between the black and the beige mics other than colour. I mean black ones can also be from the older series MD421's right?? Thanx. Marc
