    MySpace

Since all the recent trouble at MySpace my uploaded mp3's sound more like Real Player streaming audio...i.e. audio artifacts. Is anyone else using MySpace experiencing this same result?

    Entry Level Keyboard Help!

I know little about keys although I have a Korg D5-8 that I use with a usb midi cable and Logic on my Mac to flesh out simple backing cords. My bass player son wanted what he calls a "synth" for Christmas. Since he doesn't know any more than I do about keys I didn't know what he really wanted...

    Mixing is HARD!

The mix comes together more when the vocals come up and are pushed back into the mix. I think the quiet vox need some effects to put them back in the mix. If your intent was to have the quiet vox have more presence than the rest I think you can accomplish that and follow my suggestion at the...

    Two track stereo drum recording.

Yes very much. I am amazed as to how well the stereo recording turned out. I'm planning on using the X/Y mic placement again in my simple little two input home studio. I use Logic which has some presets for "live drum" recordings. I tweaked that a little and added a touch of verb. My band...

    Two track stereo drum recording.

That's what I'm thinking. The stereo mix is pretty good spacially. I was surprised that the X/Y mic placement worked that well. The drummer is not a basher which probably would have helped so I'm trying to compensate for that.

I'd suggest dialing the threshold up on your amuse plugin. ;) Mount Rushmore on the Canadian side.

    Two track stereo drum recording.

I've never tried recording live drums. I've mostly used canned drums to flesh out my tracks at home. This is a first and I use an Apogee Duet so I only had two inputs...thus the stereo track. The track is good but sounding a little light or thin for rock n roll. Since posting I've tried a...

    Two track stereo drum recording.

Typical...you spend so much time doing absolutely nothing except stroking your own ego....or whatever. The cave is for shoveling guano.

    Two track stereo drum recording.

Of those three emotions, the only one I'd want near my mix would be "horny". If I were doing commercial jingles I might use the other two. :D

Why normalize? I usually don't "normalize" anything.
