Audiophile 2496 and spdif in problem

thank you very much for your answer. so to conclude: it is normal, that the sound I record is not that loud as it is on the commercial CDs..? Could someone please explain me how to increase the overall mixdown volume at the end (after mixing)? Which plugins/tools should I use for that...

Audiophile 2496 and spdif in problem

hi, no it is not that low. it is like -12. but anyway, when I record it at 0 or +6, i get some clicks (too loud) in my computer. and also later in mixing, when I put all the tracks together, it starts clicking - here I am doing something wrong probably, but dont know what? I dont know how to...

Audiophile 2496 and spdif in problem

Hi, I have a problem. I still use my old Roland Fantom to record sounds to my computer, using an audiophile 2496 soundcard. I use the consumer spdif (rca) out on roland and spdif in on the audiophile. The problem is that the signal coming to the computer sounds somehow low (if I set the gain...

    Audigy 2 NX

Hi, as i said before, my laptop doesn´t have a pcmcia slot... it is a gericom hummer computer (sold only in europe).. I was thinking about the m-audio audiophile usb... Any comments on that? Or maybe m-audio fast track pro (has mic preamps). bye Quarx

    Audigy 2 NX

Ok, i understand :) and no, my laptop really doesn`t have a pcmcia slot... but has 5 usb ports! :) and no firewire... hm, now i really don´t know what to do. I just need a digital input (24/48 or 96) to record some sounds from my roland fantom workstation... The latency is not important, just...

    Audigy 2 NX

Hi Do you maybe have any experiences with the Audigy 2 NX. I need an external soundcard for my laptop which is able to record digital signal (spdif optical or coax) in 24/96. Everything else is just a bonus. I`m a bit sceptical about the usb2 port and stability of this card, so I ask you for...

    Edirol (Roland) UA-1D

Is there a significant drop in quality (roland has 24bit outs) because of 16bit...? I would use it as a portable studio option... (to record some tracks from roland to my laptom).

    Need SPDIF to USB Interface

Hi I need a SPDIF-In (coax or optical) to USB Digital Audio Interface. Something like Edirol UA-1D or M-Audio Audiophile USB. I find the Edirol a bit old (I´m not sure it is USB 2, and it is only 16bit; i prefer 24bit). Basically i want to connect the Roland Fantom to my laptop computer...

    Edirol (Roland) UA-1D

Hi, Does anyone here in this forum use the Edirol UA-1D (USB Digital Audio Interface)? I would like to record the tracks from my Roland Fantom FA-76 to the laptop... It is apparently a bit old (this Edirol) - so probably it is not an USB2 device... Is this bad or has no impact on the digital...

    MIDI Playback (Windows)

well, if i for example want to play back a midi file using winamp, it uses the default midi player (MS GS/GM SW Synth or SB!Live). I am looking for an alternative to these two options.

    MIDI Playback (Windows)

No, i know fruity loops. i don't need that. I would need something like described above...

    MIDI Playback (Windows)

Hi, Is there any substitute for the stupid Microsoft GS SW Synth/Mapper? I would need it, because my Audiophile 9624 doesn't have a GM SoftSynth and because I don't like the sounds of the MS crap. Also my SB Live has pretty bad samples. Where would I found a stand-alone SW Synth (not a VST), so...

    SPDIF connection problem (low signal)

Hi, I have my Roland Fantom connected to the Audiophile soundcard via SPDIF coax cable. The problem is, that the signal level is lower than it should be. If I listen to the sound coming out from the Fantom's phones jack, the one coming through the SPDIF output (while using the same phones) is...

    MIDI latency question

There is no midi input on the soundblaster soundcards. There is only a joystick port, which can be used also as a midi port (if you plug in an appropriate cable).
