    Very cool indeed. For the performer that needs to command attention! I've read that they sound pretty good too. Similar to many of the other small capsule omnis of that type. Haven't tried one, but thought about ordering one as a conversation piece.

    To the original poster: choose a dynamic mic with the tightest pick up pattern you can find. If you are not familiar with polar patterns read this: Microphone Directional Characteristics Who knows, perhaps your OLD XLR Shure mic is omnidirectional. ;)

    I believe that is true, for the the top and bottom as well. A lot of dynamics only go down to 40Hz, typical condenser is 20khz.
